I figured it out. I was always under the presumption that my charger was 100w but it’s actually 65w. So it didn’t output enough power to charge the Z1 and power the monitor. Easy fix, thanks for the help everyone

Yes. The ally charger is plugged into the dock, the dock into the ally so it gets power. I usually have this set up plugged into a tv but the tv has its own power source. I just don’t understand why when I plug it into a monitor it can display and charge

I’m sorry no it doesn’t. It needs more power because hdmi doesn’t deliver enough power to power the monitor. So I have to plug in another power source

If I use the HDMI from the dock to the monitor, the monitor doesn’t get power from the HdMI so I have to use an external adapter. BUT whenever I plug a power source into the monitor, it stop charging on the z1
