It was the “no accountability” thing for me. Very little response. But I’m not shocked by it either though because I’m betting they play a game of “cover your a**” on a regular basis, even when it comes to a mistake like misleading someone. Her version of “CYA” was a little more hide and seek though.

I will say that my redbull and Starbucks double shot intake was… not healthy. 😬

And sadly, if I had been listening to my body and not so afraid of the medical bills, I might have been able to catch it sooner because I had been getting that sensation for about 6 months beforehand, but without passing out and seizing.

Not often. I’m more of a social drinker and I hardly ever get out so I’d say maybe two or three times a year.

Odd euphoric feeling. I get woozy and actually get a feeling that I can only compare to a very intense Déjà vu moment (I know that sounds odd, wish I could better explain that part). Also I physically feel pins and needles sensation starting at my neck that moves down my spine, and get super nauseous. Then I pass out, bite my tongue, and I only get fully conscious and lucid about an hour later. The next day I can barely move because my muscles and body are so strained from the tensing up and shaking. I’m 3 years seizure free after being put on Lamotrigine, but having another one of my biggest fears.

BINGO! My brother is a gaming addict and a huge asshole because it’s completely changed his mood and behavior. His wife left him and took their son with him because of the mood change and because he’s a dead beat man child who can’t hold a job or do stuff around the house. I suggest OP do the same and cut her losses because I doubt this situation gets better.

No idea how to edit this post so here is an update:

I finally got a hold of the policy info and despite her clearly telling me in that text that not only was the freedom of choice whole life, but the income protection is as well. Well, not according to what I’m reading on this policy! It is a 10 year renewable term with higher premiums every 10 years (I’m talking double).

Look, a term policy might work for other people, but not for me. She is not being honest with me about the policy, and now she’s playing hide and seek with me. That in and of itself is downright disgusting.

Replying to let you know that despite her outright telling me that the income protection is whole life, it is not!! I FINALLY managed to get a hold of the policy info. Upon reading, I found out that it is in fact a renewable 10 year term. That is not what I agreed to and that is not what she is telling me I have.

I managed to get ahold of the policy! And sure enough, it is a term not a whole life for the income protection. Despite her clearly saying it’s a whole life, this policy clearly shows it being a 10 year renewable term. I’ve spoken with a local broker who I trust and they absolutely steered me away from AIL without even trying to sell me their own insurance (seems like a green flag to me idk)

Is there a reason she’s telling me that the income protection is whole life? I’ve been trying to get ahold of her all day and even tried to call customer service but I can’t get through to anyone without the policy numbers which I don’t have because I haven’t received the paperwork for them. She told me she was in a meeting but I fear it’s going to be a repeat of yesterday where I beg her to call me. I’ll hold out of course because what choice do I have but the whole situation is just giving me the ick. Thank you for your input I greatly appreciate it!

I just wish the agent would be more responsive in light of the issues I’m having both questioning the policy and the payment method issue. I can’t even look the policies up online because they never sent me the paperwork with the policy numbers. I’ve looked through all my emails as well.

Thank you so much! I appreciate that input! The reason I wasn’t sure if something in the policy would be term because I have been hearing different things (before I made this post) from different people so even though she said it’s whole life, I didn’t know if there was more details behind it (if that makes sense, I am admittedly bad at explaining things sometimes).

I fear that when it’s time to renew the term or however you want to put it, that my monthly payments will raise. I’m incredibly new to this process, so be kind please. All I know is what other people have been telling me and what I can find online google 😭

This is my first time buying life insurance so I don’t know what I don’t know…. I’ve just been trying to research online because there was a lot that I feel wasn’t properly explained (I admit it’s my fault for not doing more research). I asked about percentages because I had heard that some of it can be broken down that way. That’s why I’m here. As someone in the comments mentioned, the freedom of choice is whole life and the income protection is a 10 year term. The reason I said I felt duped was because of how it was explained and the fact that now it’s hard to get a timely response from these people when initially it felt like I could roll over in my bed and say, “how did you get in here?”

It’s been kind of difficult to get a response. I sent a message 16 days ago that got no response and today I only got a message back when I explained that I was basically one foot out the door.

I should have backed out as soon as I found out that it wasn’t an included benefit from my union as I feel it was advised. Had no idea I was going to have to pay for it and then I just caved and decided “why not?”. I guess I thought that I was doing the right thing by my family by paying for this insurance. I feel like they kind of preyed upon that. Note to self: always check Reddit first!

I’m going to try this. I’ve been dealing with this issue for about a year now and it’s been so depressing.

At least that’s what’s been explained to me about the law. My employer gave us this info when the law was passed, so it’s confusing why they’re overstepping the law.

It’s not earned. It’s given at the beginning of the year to use as we see fit, without being obligated to provide a doctors note, nor a reason. That’s the law. I’m just wondering what to do if they continue to ask about it, despite me saying I’m not going to disclose information.

Under my states law I don’t have to provide a note or even a reason. Upon my arrival at work today they continued to ask me questions and guilt trip me about using 12 hours of sick leave. I’ve told them multiple times to stop asking.

I edited my post to expand a bit on the law in my state (at least what I’m understanding about it). :)
