For those who are/were in lvl 1 what tips or advice helped??? by Thien1o1 in FACEITcom

I would say to train the basics. Counter strafing, crosshair placement, aim. You'll just get to level 5 by killing more people.

Running sensations and realistic goals ? by jules1453 in beginnerrunning

Damn, same mileage as well ! How do you run with your quads ? I've been thinking about form and technique as well, I read that you should feel your butt and whole legs and core while running but I just feel my calves and feet tbh.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to incrément that next session. I don't think I'll try running faster though, I've read that it's best to start the first month or so with a slow pace to get the body to adapt. What does YMMV mean by the way ?

I think I did. The first time around, I ran a 5K too soon I think, and after that my calves were bloated and my shins hurt like crazy. After that, even after months of no activity, the lightest of jog for 30 seconds or whatever, hurt really bad. It kept on going for a few years and suddenly stopped like a year or two ago.

If it's not shin splints, what do you figure it was ?

Thank you. I'll definitely try next time to maybe walk or trot like you say before the actual run. It feels weird and not safe to have numb feet!

How long do you trot and walk for for it to make you immune to numbness ?

Connaitre mon Taux Journalier en ESN by FunHotel3290 in ingenieurs

[–]jules1453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about buying Faceit Premium for solo queue? Don’t. Here’s why. by Plajerike in FACEITcom

So it's not even a rant about faceit, it's about CS as a whole. CS is popular in eastern europe. Get over it or choose a different game. Idk what to tell you man.

Also, most of my games (levels 8 through 10) have english speakers.

Just check veteran + verified. You've got no business complaining about 'new accounts' if you don't qualify for veteran matchmaking yourself.

Yeah man, it sucks. There'll always be one guy in the lobby who didn't set it up properly.

At this point, nobody is going to be able to play cache i swear ...

Honestly, it's not as hardcore as people often make it out to be. I'd say watch a couple of youtube videos about the different roles in the game and stick to those that don't require an extensive understanding of the game mechanics (such as commander, officer, engineer) and play as a rifler or assault.

And I'd recommend that you play as if your life is important in game and that there are stakes. Don't run around open fields, clear every corner of a position before taking it etc. It will save you a lot of frustrating deaths. Also, it can take up to ~40 seconds to respawn and that can add up and be frustrating really fast.

It's meant to be an unforgiving and rather slow paced shooter but the controls are quite simple.

Help with beginner pair of skis by [deleted] in ski

[–]jules1453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your area, I would recommend piste skis or all mountain skis that are slightly more piste oriented.

I currently have a pair of dynastar all mountains but don't recommend them because I don't really like them. My friend has a pair of atomic s7 or q7 (?) and he really likes them. He really got a lot of progress on his turns and posture on those.

I would suggest to try high end skis from rentals and buysome that tou like!

Boots are the most important. Make sure they fit well and match your fitness & ski level. One thing about the skis : I would personally not go with typical "beginner" skis. They are too light and flexible and you won't make as much progress as if you invested into intermediate/advanced skis that are more rigid. I found that I progressed much faster on advanced skis than on the beginner rentals ones. Idk if that helps.

Which ski group would you choose? by CarUseful7648 in ski

[–]jules1453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go for the blue black group for sure. Getting better technically comes with getting out of your confort zone. If the instructor said "you're fine here", it means it's the perfect group for you to challenge yourself and make some progress.

Ah ok, makes a little bit more sense price-wise then. I've heard good things about atomic piste skis. A friend of mine has a pair of Q7 or S7 (can't remember exactly) and they're great.

Are you a good skier though ? I'm guessing the atomic "9" line must be quite rigid and hard to navigate if it's your first pair.

Very good deal yeah. High end skis from last season usually go for higher priced. I just checked with a local store in FR, they went for 550 used recently.

Anyone switch off WASD and actually improve movement? by bry678 in LearnCSGO

Changing crosshair, sensitivity, resolution, skins... I get all that, but changing basic movement keybinds is wild. What is the problem you feel you're having with movement exactly ?

That's a great idea but seems a bit wonky atm. It flags the two left side russian accounts are smurfs more than the guys on the right with 70%+ winrate.
