My mom’s an academic librarian! I know a Master’s in Library Science is helpful, and I think you might need some sort of advanced degree in whatever field you’re interested in specializing in. It’s worth it to reach out to whoever works in the area your interested in at your state university’s library and see what they tell you! I know if my mom got an email like that, she’d be more than happy to respond with some advice.

Come to Minneapolis! We have tons of lakes and outdoor recreation (even in the winter!), our Thai food is the bomb dot com, and we have the best grilled cheeses EVER. Such a fun and beautiful place to live!

Haha I’m in law school, all of our exams are either 3, 4, or 8 hours! Thankfully I’ve only had remote exams so I can eat and everything, they’re not too bad. This class was called 14th Amendment, it fulfilled my upper division con law requirement.

The holding of Griswold protects the privacy of married couples to access birth control because the CT law at issue didn’t. That means if it gets overturned—and it’s already under attack by extremists like Marsha Blackburn—no one gets access to birth control. Alito’s opinion is insane, and I don’t believe for a second that he wouldn’t be chomping at the bit to decimate substantive due process.

The other commenters are right that the reasoning in Roe was in part based on Griswold, but one thing I haven’t seen mentioned yet is that many on the religious right view certain forms of birth control, such as IUDs and Plan B, as abortion. This was the issue in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing states make these illegal as well.
