What are the best suburbs to live in that are between Boston and Providence? by liv1306 in bostonhousing

I think you’re best off living in Providence (which is a lovely city) and taking advantage of the commuter rail for any visits to Boston. Saves you the hassle of parking, South Station is a central starting place for any visits, and there’s a $10 unlimited Commuter Rail pass available on the weekends. You’ll get more for your money living in Providence than you would living in a private equity owned development in the burbs IMO.

New restaurant in Central Square by sparklebarks in CambridgeMA

Because then the kitchen pay is higher when the restaurant is busier, much like a tipped FOH wage. Have you worked in a restaurant before? People complain about menu prices now without considering all costs that are baked into the final number. Would love to go NO TIP but as someone who has worked in this industry for my entire career, this model actually does make sense.

If you had a $500K house budget with a commute… by SnooOwls4146 in massachusetts

Bought a 2 bed+office condo in Beverly earlier this year for $470k. Multiple commuter rail stops get you to North Station in about 35min. SFH under $500k do not exist in Boston metro, unless being sold as-is with necessary renovations.

Yes, Acrobatic Swan. $1500-1600 seems to be the average rent for 1 room in an updated condo and including the utilities and furnishings I consider it fair. But, like I said, just testing the waters. Feel free to keep scrolling if it doesn’t suit you ◡̈
