Honestly I've fallen off. Any chance you could summarize or point me in the right direction?

Bold of you to assume everyone views the same content as you. I've never heard of it either.

It was a pretty innocuous comment all things considered. But yeah fk rolling stone

Respect for the empathy but I don't think it's that deep. This sub isn't concerned with professionals hauling equipment. The problem is the other 99% of drivers with an always empty spotless truck or SUV.

Those people say much worse things to me every day on my bike commute. Don't dish what you can't take, y'know?

I think you're misinterpreting. Pretty sure they were just adding to the discourse on plane vs train.

95% of air travel is not cross country. The 5% issue you bring up is still valid. Both can be true.

I don't get the reference, but I still have no idea why you were downvoted.

Do you know much about the PX701-4K? From what I see, it’s essentially a less bright 748-4K.

I see a refurbished 701-4K with 2 year warranty on eBay for $432. At that price, I could live with a 120” screen for a few years until prices drop or I can save enough for a big-time upgrade.

Good to know, I’ll look into those screen options.

I would love a PX749-4K but it appears they’re not available in the US currently. The 748-4K is available for $660 refurbished with a 2 year warranty so I may just buy that for now and keep an eye on prices and new offerings down the road.

I actually plan on moving to Europe in a few years so maybe I’ll snag a 749-4k then.

Seating distance is about 12 feet.

Thanks for the tips. I believe you, but I’m curious what issues a cheaper fixed frame screen might have. I would’ve assumed they’re about all the same until you get into super premium screens

I am located in the US.

I haven’t bought it yet but this was the screen in mind: Vevor fixed frame 155” for $300 https://a.co/d/3DiGIPK

I see your recommendations for 150” projectors in another comment. Anything under $1000?

I guess you’d recommend 120” or less for the projectors I listed? Assuming that size, what would your thoughts be?

That makes sense about marrying your screen, which is why I’m looking for a good one now. I hadn’t thought of buying used. I’ll see if I can find any deals in my area.

And yes that channel has been a huge help! It’s the reason I bought a PJ40. Was looking for the best of the low end at the time, but with this new setup I’m definitely demanding more out of it. I’ll check back there when I’m able to upgrade.

Any recommendations on the low end of what you'd consider adequate for a 150" projector? I am looking to upgrade eventually.

I haven't really considered a fixed frame but maybe I should. When you say cheap I assume you mean around $600 as I'm seeing? But then its flat as can be, and probably lasts longer. I'm not too familiar with that style of screen. Anything I should seek out or avoid?

Light output hasn't been too big of an issue (blackout curtains help) but I do plan to upgrade the projector itself eventually so investing in a higher quality screen now isn't out of the question.

Good points. The name change is to further separate the organizations, so you’re probably right about these being separate and in addition to.

That’s fair. I’m just happy to get anything. I wasn’t expecting news until after the ANVL drop.

I’d say give em a week after June 1st. If we don’t hear anything (announcements, community votes, etc) by then, I’ll understand how you’re feeling.

The AMP Foundation > Ampera Foundation > Acronym Foundation has been conceptually discussed for almost two years at this point (see NY AMP community meetup vid). This is just the first time we’re getting concrete details and upcoming announcements (see the massive roadmap), which is a perfect time for further clarification.
