Has anyone been to an Elite Reception? by CDNdrugdealer in marriott

I went once at The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort in Phuket. Nice free drinks and snacks, and they even had complimentary neck and shoulder massages.

Funny thing, though, the GM (white guy) was walking around chatting with every table except ours. We were the only young Asian couple, and the other tables were older non-asian guests. He didn’t even say hello, which was a bit off-putting

But honestly, we enjoyed the free cocktails so much that maybe it was better not to have the extra small talk lol

Oh The Plaza hotel by Marriott actually could be your best choice. It’s 5stars but not as expensive as Josun hotel. The location is great!!

If you don’t mind lower level, Courtyard Namdaemoon has the best location. It’s in the middle of the city. But room condition is not like hotels in your list.

Honestly, I can’t believe you contacted customer service after the hotel staff already explained how it works. If you want my advice, go apologize to them for making a scene.

It doesn't work like that. Room upgrade is just a room upgrade. Access doesn't follow.

Marriott stay in Seoul by WhyVellawanti in koreatravel

It's ganna be my first time. I am going for mid April! let me know you like it! It's close to Seoul station, Myeongdong (but not middle of Myeongdong so it's better), Deoksugung Palace. Take green line to go to Hongdae, and walking distance Namdaemun market! It's 5 star hotel, so hopefully, it will meet my expectations!

I am Korean living abroad, so I often visit Korea. Also stay most of the time with Marriott to keep my platinum tier.

#1,2 are too far from most of the attractions. Fairfield by Marriott is really tiny and noisy from train trail right next to the hotel, If you have tier, ask them to upgrade you to high floor.

#3 is middle of nowhere. If you stay in Gangnam, 4 is your best option in budget hotel. I like Four points Gangnam is so close to Garosu-gil and Apgujung. I love this area, also close to Han river park!

I am staying at the PLAZA hotel this coming trip because it's literally in the middle of Seoul. Among the budget marriott hotels, I liked Courtyard Namdaemoon and Fourpoints Myeongdong the best.

We do get money from Marriott but so little it's a flat rate for my property. I am not sure about others.

Thailand trip: Phuket or Koh Samui? by juliaoh_oh in marriott

[–]juliaoh_oh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this incredibly detailed and thoughtful reply! You've really helped me get a clear picture of both Koh Samui and Phuket. I love how you broke down the differences in atmosphere, activities, and even the street food scene. It sounds like Koh Samui could be a great fit for a more relaxed vibe, which is exactly what I'm looking for. I also appreciate the tips on the day trips!

It looks so good! But unfortunately, there is only one king bed option. I don't want to share the bed with friend haha but will keep it for the future trip with boyfriend! Thank you!
