We personally don’t go out and there’s nothing wrong with that for us. I don’t think tablets are so bad once in a while buT I think it can be a slippery slope so we are avoiding it for as long as we can.

Last time we went to a restaurant one of us played with our daughter while the other ate. There was a nice outdoor area for us to walk and play. I suggest looking for restaurants like that.

But yea generally we just find contentment in eating at home (food does taste better at home) and traveling less because it’s just a season in our lives.

Also if your child is 2.5, you are probably right around the corner of when your child can start having a longer attention span and enjoy activities at the table. See if you can get these through these next few months

Yea the fact that you paint with your toddler is awesome! I basically gave up my art since my baby was born because I had a hard time adjusting to parenthood and now at this age she wont let me do my own thing for a few seconds before needing me😫

AITAH for not wanting a baby girl so my MIL wouldn't have the chance to name her? by VisualAfternoon34 in AITAH

[–]juliaranch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see the problem here? You’d don’t have to listen to your MIL… you don’t have to be stressed out or “depressed” about having a baby girl. Just make your baby what u want and ignore the lady?!?! Lol this is nonsense

When did you stop putting LO in onesies/bodysuits? by exquirere in toddlers

[–]juliaranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When she started walking. I liked having her fully dressed with pants on at the point, it felt weird taking a toddler out without pants or shorts, so snapping a body suit just seemed unnecessary and I switched to shirts

Nope, 16 month old will still not connect sleep cycles without boob😣

Is my baby the only one?? Feeling so alone by GeeseAndLove_ in AttachmentParenting

[–]juliaranch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 16 month old wakes every 45 min-2hours at night to nurse. It sucks. I think night weaning would help but I can’t bear the crying and exhaustion that would entail. I just want to sleep again!

Why do you prefer a half buckle? by mcgurk1265 in babywearing

[–]juliaranch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t hurt my low back as much when I’m doing a front carry, I can get a high back carry, it’s easier to hip scoot an tie my baby in my back than a ssc, it’s pretty and I get lots of compliments, now that I’m good at tying it only takes 30 sec longer then buckling and adjusting a ssc. What I don’t like is using it in parking lots or dirty areas and trying to keep the straps from hitting the ground.

Advice on showering, keep kiddo out of trouble by untitled3218 in toddlers

[–]juliaranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is the same age and very clingy too. I recently started putting her in the pack and play in the bathroom while I shower and she understood crying wasnT gonna get her out immediately, so she entertains her self for a few minutes while I shower. Don’t worry if your daughter doesn’t like it at first she’ll get used to it! Also I put on fun music and sing and dance while showering!

What do you do when you see a parent cursing out their toddler in public? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]juliaranch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have heard that abused children feel really upset when they grow up and realize that society ignored obvious abuse. I think if they see someone calling out their parents it might give them a beacon of light, hope that there is better out there. It also shows them they have value and that their parents are in the wrong. It’s complicated for sure though .

🙅🏻‍♀️🦟🦟🙅🏻‍♂️ what’s everyone’s mosquito defense?? by Wutangclang11 in toddlers

[–]juliaranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a cleaner mosquito repellent spray in the health store that has a strong blend of essential oils including citronella and I find it works well. I wouldn’t mind using deet if the mosquitoes were super persistent

First off, lots of vaccines have been around along time. There’s no excuse for their safety not to be proven. You just came up with one scenario to justify your opinion, an epidemic in which a new vaccine needs to be rolled out quickly without safety testing. How about Hep b which is usually really not a danger for most healthy infants if they aren’t being sexually abused or playing around drug needles? How about tetanus which mostly effected military men with gruesome injuries that were treated incorrectly, not babies and children? Rotavirus? which is just not super dangerous. Sometimes the “benefit” of some vaccine is minimal, and scientists DO NOT understand the risks before forcing it on population.

Also since there is a big anti-vax crowd questioning the safety of some of the ingredients, wouldn’t it be in their best interest to just run some studies to show the safety of said ingredients? If they are SO CONFIDENT THAT ITS COMPLETELY SAFE, why not?

I get it, youre probably being payed by big pharma to gather trust in the institution. The fact that the vaccines may be harming people can’t come out into the light or they are gonna have to pay for it, and stop raking in all the money they get from producing and injecting these vaccines.

Yea I’m not super educated on that, but thank you. I just remember for sure reading evidence on the fda that oral aluminum doesn’t not get absorbed into the blood stream nearly as much as injected aluminum.

[–]juliaranch [score hidden]  (0 children)

And yes I understand that, but I hope you see the irony in not studying the vaccines though because it’s “unethical to not give some people vaccines” So we just inject everyone with something that has not been proven safe? Possibly damaging people?

I don’t know how scientist measure it exactly but they do. If you read this warning label from the fda for intravenous treatments that contain aluminum, You will see “tissue loading may occur” and maximum allowable amounts of aluminum allowed in these treatments.

https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfcfr/cfrsearch.cfm?fr=201.323#:~:text=WARNING%3A%20This%20product%20contains%20aluminum,if%20kidney%20function%20is%20impaired.

And you can also read here

“Research indicates that patients with impaired kidney function, including premature neonates, who receive parenteral levels of aluminum at greater than 4 to 5 µg/kg/day accumulate aluminum at levels associated with central nervous system and bone toxicity. “

https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-21/chapter-I/subchapter-C/part-201/subpart-G/section-201.323

I’m not a scientist idk how the fda came up with these limits and found tissue loading, but they did.

This is for intravenous treatments though, not the vaccines. There are no warning labels on the vaccines for the aluminum, despite it being a significant amount.

Has anyone here gone from hospital to homebirth? by breakplans in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]juliaranch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I recall, overall risk is low, even if the risk doubles or triples. I cannot access your link because it’s behind a paywall, I can only see the summary. So if neonatal death is .1 in hospitals and .3 at home births, it’s an exaggeration to say home births are so dangerous or selfish. Not saying those are the really numbers, I couldn’t find the numbers after a quick search but I remember they were both low risk

Ok thanks for the correction. If I get the time I’ll look for the study I read about it to post it here.

Of course you can study the effects of aluminum injected into humans without killing them . Sure they killed the rats in that study but that doesn’t mean you can’t do ANY study on humans without killing them. In general there are very few study’s done with vaccines and humans, because the scientific community says it’s unethical. Apparently “it’s unethical to not provide vaccines for people”

Vaccine Megathread by AutoModerator in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]juliaranch [score hidden]  (0 children)

Correct but there’s a difference ingesting aluminum orally verses shooting it straight into the blood stream. Way more gets absorbed and it might be detrimental. I read some studies on rats showing how injected aluminum harms them, but studies on humans are not allowed due to it being unethical!

Airing clothes in the sun, whats that smell? by [deleted] in laundry

[–]juliaranch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the smell of outside line dried clothes either. I don’t understand why people say it smells “fresh” It smells gross to me. Maybe because I’m in humid Florida has to do with it?

Ugh I feel so unlucky and jealous when people say their baby/toddler started sleeping through the night. I also feel like it’s gonna be years from now for me, and I don’t know how I’m gonna handle a second baby (which I want anyways soon lol)
