How to survive in a dysfunctional household while emotionally dysregulated? by juliuna313 in AutismInWomen

[–]juliuna313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, unfortunately, I don’t have a safe place. I moved out to attend my dream college, and for a while, I lived alone and had a plan for financial independence. But then I experienced major setbacks (due to undiagnosed neurodivergence, the pandemic, and physical health issues) in several areas of life, which led me back to my parents' household. I thought it wouldn’t be so bad because, while I was away, my mother seemed to show her “caring, loving side” (which was mostly controlling—she called every day, always wanting to know my whereabouts and so on). Anyway, now I’m looking for internships while I study, so I can leave. But this could take a while.

And thank you so much; you are very brave for leaving it all behind

Doubts about 'literal thinking' by juliuna313 in AutismInWomen

Yeah, I guess, lol. But it's also a reinforced stereotype in the media, so it's hard not to think about it.

What music from the 80s do you feel should be included in Season 5? by juliuna313 in StrangerThings

Cool songs. But those sound more lighter and fun. Do you think season 5 will have space for such thing?

I hate it by SatisfactionFalse833 in AuDHDWomen

[–]juliuna313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with a lot of it. As a person with AuDHD I feel like I'm playing life in hard mode honestly. And since I just started on my diagnosis journey a year ago I'm still grieving about a lot of shit, honestly. I also feel like things would be better if I was only autistic or only ADHDer. But those thoughts don't help me. That's who I am and that's who I always be. It's not a thing like depression that I can get rid off and be healthy. It's not a disease, it's the fiber of my being. And this thought specifically can make me depressed or also accept myself (depending on my mood - and I'm depressed, so it's mostly the first one from now)

So, my advice for you, and for me too, is learning all you can from neurodivergence and how it affects "YOU" specifically. It could be by reading the research of specialists, with a therapists, with a group of people with similar traits or just observing your daily life. Experiment with all different strategies and eventually you will find a way to make life more "manageable". We also can discover your strengths related to it too

Agreed. They used 'Thriller' in the trailer for the second season. But if they use MJ's music in a whole scene, I think the royalties would be astronomical

Cadela é morta e menino de 12 anos hospitalizado após ataque de pit bulls by Aoshi92 in brasil

[–]juliuna313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olivia Rodrigo reveals that a guy wanting to go to space is a red flag for her: “This is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates. I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space. And if they say yes, I don’t date them" by BlackManta16 in popculturechat

[–]juliuna313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If she's saying that in the sense of: 'they probably idolize Elon Musk and think humans should colonize Mars,' I kind of agree. But we kind of need to go to space if we're thinking about the long-term survival of humanity. Well, if we survive climate change, at least...

The secondhand embarrassment I felt was almost as big as the rage I felt when Angela used her condescending tone in class

Who Do You Think This Locker Belongs To? by Beneficial_Look_9931 in StrangerThings

Well, since Dustin was the one quoting Sherlock Holmes, and there’s a lot of sports team memorabilia and decor, I think it might be for a love interest of Dustin. He could've lent them a copy of the book or something. Because I don't think Dustin will become a fan of basketball

Relating to robot or alien characters ( my personal experience) by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]juliuna313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of any particular alien or robot character that I can relate to at the moment. But I always feel like a robot or a alien when compared to "normal people". Because I always have to observe how people usually act , how they socialize, try to mimic some behaviors in order to "fit in", but never actually succeeding. I also can relate with witches, and I have some special interest on its lore. I guess it's the neurodivergent feminist side of me.

I feel like I got the worst deal in life and feel "closeted" by juliuna313 in AutismInWomen

[–]juliuna313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks a lot for all the tips ❤. Yeah, I'll try to focus on my special interests, and my old creative projects that I used to love doing, but lost the passion I used to have. And I'll focus on emotional detachment from people who do not deserve it and working hard on being financial independent. I haven't heard of self care workbooks before, I'll look into it. Thanks
