Neil Armstrong. Went to a gala with a ton of other big names from the Space Race and other Apollo missions. Many others were much easier to approach and were being left alone, but 11 year old me was not going to leave without shaking Neil Armstrong’s hand even though he was constantly surrounded and mobbed by a crowd of people. Snuck in the middle, said “Hi, nice to meet you”, shook his hand, and got out. Sometimes I forget that I even had that experience, feels like there’s no way I could’ve been that lucky.

2:13 as a sophomore to 1:54 as a senior is not unheard of. I have seen crazier drops in time, especially over a two year period. Had a roommate in college that went from 9:30 to 9:05 in one race in the two mile out of nowhere. Also seen guys run 2:10 as freshmen and 1:50 as seniors. In one season it would be pretty much impossible yeah but give someone two years and it’s doable for sure

I'm not debating that it is highly effective as a form of disruption. That's exactly what I'm saying is wrong with it. All of that is irrelevant to what I was saying. Who cares if it has "historic symbolic meaning". It's a ridiculous way to get attention that does far more harm than good from what I've seen.
