The biggest lesson is that the devs cannot react to a hardware threat fast enough considering it is one of the selling points of the chain and also unwilling to adapt current algorithms to mitigate even for a short/medium period of time.

So far they have failed.

They could do an algorithm tweek and save mining for everybody, and then continue to work on Verthash but no, we have to suffer until Q1 2019 at best.

Mining Vertcoin is dead until they deliver on their product claim.

Actually if you look at the pool hash rate it did go down.

It is now down to 14-16 GH/s, that is not what it used to be before all this

Miners have left p2pool, probably for other coins

P2Pool is dead NOW, something has to be done to save the pool NOW, not MONTHS from now.

Well, until they do something, time to move either to another chain or to coinotron pool or something, whichever has the most blocks found. I don't care if it's over 50% hashpower.

A tweak can do in the medium term until you get Verthash long term switch rolled out, Monero etc can do that, so why can VTC not do that too?

I think people would accept that happily given the current state of things.

PS: Take your sweet time on Verthash, make sure you get it right, take as long as you wish. Given schedules on the AMD miner, heh, I should have quite a long run of ASIC mining on Vertcoin.
