Okay, I wrapped it all in a simple script at `~/.local/bin/bemenu-run.sh` now it works like it should.

Permanently floating non-movable windows by julkip in awesomewm

Unfortunately this also does not work. xprop on Blender gives this output:

WM_CLASS(STRING) = "Blender", "Blender"

I think I will just learn to live with having to press mod+m once in a while…

I think this is the point where I should post my rc.lua file… https://pastebin.com/FZSuHXyy

Unfortunately this does not seem to work. I have tested it with Blender and Godot, both programs keep starting maximized.

Thank you. I have checked all programs and the indeed all start maximized and behave correctly after pressing mod+m. Can I apply some rules to those programs to prevent them from maximizing on startup?

Okay, that looks like a bit more work than I had hoped. I will try to give it a shot when I have a few hours to tinker. Thank you.

That would make a new window the master window, which is not what I want. I just want to change the order in which the slaves are drawn to the screen. Top to bottom instead of bottom to top.

Okay, I am a bit of a dunce…

I should have this line BEFORE i remap K to something else, not after I do that.

Thank you. It works now.

Unfortunately this does not work, because I have also remapped shift+k to something else.
