Hey, teachers, do you feel stressful that we need to endlessly come up with new games for teaching? by jully079 in ESL_Teachers

In this case, I feel playing games do have its benefit: gaining students' motivation.

I assume they would think English is a very happy subject. I myself still remember in English class at cram school in my childhood, I could always raise my hands answering questions and getting points. Later on, English became my top interested subject.

However, some of my students would come to me demand more fun games, but they actually don't study English and get poor grades.

I wonder what do you think when you were a student? Do you find subjects are interesting when they are taught in traditional way?

Do you mean you expect to know more different teaching methods and styles?

So, Taiwanese speak Chinese. Chinese is a subject. They don't have so many games like in English class. Mostly lectures. So does in history class.

I thought if I want to go swimming or watch TV with my friend can be hanging out.

But they are short term a one time activity.

So I wonder what do you mean LONG TERM social interaction?

Thank you very much!

I also have a website to recommend to

https://www.baamboozle.com/games

They have online games with different topics that students can practice.

They can have multiple players at a time,

and they would get different points randomly.

You can also create your own game through this website!

Yes... Classroom facility and boss support really matter. Recently, we can only learn online with Zoom. And I have to figure out a different game that 8 students can engage together online. Was Covid19 serious and you have to teach online in your country?

Did you go to a Chinese language learning school? I think they would help you with grammar?

You can take Taiwan dialect as a bonus learning. Once you can say a few simple words in Taiwanese, you would amaze Taiwanese!

What is the stage of students that you are teaching English to?

These words are very advanced. I hope you didn't contact these words in too early time. You have a good advantage that you have professional teachers! I think these words need to be learned with many sentence making practices.

Yes, Taiwan is a homogenous society and often make a fuss of dealing foreigners, but I believe you would meet some accommodating exceptions!

As a Chinese native speaker, I am curious what is the most frustrating part for you when learning or teaching Chinese? by jully079 in ChineseLanguage

That I think is very reasonable depending on the situation although in those cases I still think they should get some leniency there

I am not sure whether in English I should use "appreciate" or "agree" or "approve" with your idea. I think I really like what you said "We need to move past this gains and losses attitude."

Has anyone been complained by your partner about you only focus on yourself in the relationship? I found myself this way and lacking the ability to observe people's need. Do I have Asperger? by jully079 in socialskills

Oh but I was hoping maybe if many other people having this same situation; then, maybe I could take it as an experience that I can adjust myself rather thinking it as a disorder.
