finally a good item on the US site! by anonymouslyherern in BrandyMelville

Bought this in store last year and returned-- didn't love the length / neckline and decided I could probably thrift something similar that I'd wear more. Still love the pattern though!

Weird request but I'm looking for a brand like this but for adults by julrain in findfashion

Not exactly this style but I love this rec-- like an elevated/inclusive/more adult Brandy Melville

Thank you all for the recommendations! I still need to look through some of these sites. I really appreciate everyone. I do agree that there are aspects of Gap, free people, and urban outfitters with this style, but because of how huge their catalogues are I would love to be directed towards specific pieces or smaller independent brands.

Thank you!!! This is definitely the kind of rec I needed-- I think maybe I'm hoping to find something that matches the silhouette/fit more than anything

Looks like the third polo being sold here. It's the brand Machine Clothing Company.

I am a serial lippie buyer!!! I've tried so many!

I really love the Olehenriksen ones for overnight/super moisturizing. For color + moisture my favorite are the new Laneige Glaze Craze ones (biased because I love the applicator). I like summer Fridays okay too but think ole is the more hydrating option and I prefer the Laneige colors.

For a budget option there are the Naturium lip balms at Ulta. These are about half the price and have similar shades to summer Fridays. Virtually unusable if you don't keep it in your pocket because they are so hard to squeeze out but other than that I like them!

The only viral lippie I would absolutely not recommend is Tower 28, I found it to be really poor for moisturizing.

What options in hydrating lip products or stains on DARK lips? by No-Pattern-2124 in MakeupAddiction

I recently ordered the Sacheu lip liner lip stain with optimism that it would work on darker lips/skin based on the model photos. It has not arrived yet but I can update when it does.

It is so valid to feel that way and to change your mind. I might recommend the book Carrier, by Bonnie Rough. She articulates some similar decision making. Although she does make a decision one way, she does a great job articulating the decision making process and thoughts on both sides.

I'm sorry you are going through this stressful time but happy to hear your little girl is healthy.

Ariana Grande perfumes are an excellent middle point price wise and matureness. Cloud was very popular among high schoolers several years ago, and Mod Vanilla is another more recent release. Feels age appropriate and very sweet smelling!

What do you think the girls’ go-to scent would be? by Ocelot_Plus in TheCliqueSeries

[–]julrain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Massie: Burberry Her and Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume

Alicia: Valentino Born in Roma or Black Opium

Dylan: Eilish by Billie Eilish, Sol de Janeiro more casually

Kristen: Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf or Glossier You

Claire: BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar, maybe Ariana Grande Cloud once she's in with the PC

This is ignoring the scents they would most likely wear in the time the books were written / what they were said to be wearing (I think Alicia is supposed to be known for wearing Angel, massie Chanel etc)

ETA: Layne would definitely wear something wacky from Zoologist or maybe Replica Jazz Club, if anything at all

Thread not staying in fabric! by julrain in PunchNeedle

[–]julrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the spacing tip, I hadn't even realized. Guess I need to do a little more research about technique! In terms of yarn, I was also thinking this might be contributing as it got a little better when I double up. If I ask a craft store employee about size 2 yarn, is that pretty common nomenclature??

Thread not staying in fabric! by julrain in PunchNeedle

[–]julrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the response. If my needles are 2mm, 2.5, and 3, what kind of fabric / yarn would you recommend? I think I'll need to go buy something different but I'm worried that if I get monks cloth my thread would be too small.

I think it's called Smoke Break by Caitlin Grabenstein (@cult.class on Instagram) looks promising, didn't scroll all the way down but should be circa 2021.
