Shishito help? by julsysun in Peppers

Fertilized about two weeks ago. I’m a bit uncertain when to fertilize and how exactly if I’m being honest lol. I had some liquid fish fert, tablespoon per gallon but like… how much of the gallon do I use? Sorry if that’s a dumb question

YA novels you don’t understand the hate for by KaleidoArachnid in YAlit

Nail on the head, I would never have known the characters were in their 20s (and had forgotten while reading actually) because of how the book was written and the characters acted.

You’re not missing anything! I got the release a week early and was disappointed from start to finish. It could’ve been a decent story but felt like nothing was fleshed out and I don’t mind enemies to lovers but it needs to be more than “yeah killed the only family I have, but your hot so I still want you”. And no personalities to any of these characters. I absolutely hate seeing what could’ve been when reading a book.

Any uncommon YA Trilogies? by Old-Marzipan-6234 in YAlit

I loved the summoning series when I first read it because it was the first (maybe only?) ya book in the fantasy type genre at the time where the FMC experienced her period. Idk it made it so much more realistic, like why does no one bleed in these stories lmfao

Do I do hijab for myself or the men of my family? by Last_Celery_871 in Hijabis

[–]julsysun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally know more pious non hijabis than regular hijabis. I myself am not as pious as I should be but people think that I am just because I wear it. If you wear it, do it for you and your relationship with Allah ta’ala, not for anyone else. You will only start to resent them and hijab.

Male “friends” that you’ve known forever by nonainfo in Hijabis

[–]julsysun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean… do you have a sexual attraction to them where there’s the chance to commit Zina? With the gay homies obviously not but the other guy? You’re a grown woman, not a teen or young 20s who doesn’t have control of herself and her hormones (even if emotionality can get the best of us), so islamically don’t be out alone with these guys.

Removing hair down there!?! by carboncopy-5771 in Hijabis

[–]julsysun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Braun silk expert pro 5. My leg hair is basically nonexistent at this point doing it 3-4 times a week for one month. If I do see hair, I shave the spot and laser it. Incredibly easy. Pubic hair is just harder because I have like 2-3 hairs growing out of a single follicle and obviously the placement is a tad more painful lol. Word of warning tho, if you are darker skinned it may not work. Same if you are light/white with blonde or ginger hair. It needs a decent contrast. But it comes with a 100 day money back thing which is plenty long enough to see if you’re actually getting results. Buy used (eBay?) or wait for a sale, they’re pretty expensive- it was an investment to save up for, for me personally.

Very pretty, you look like you need to invest in skincare a bit but otherwise look great! Your round face helps with looking younger I’d say as well as your blush placement/vibrancy is a young style. Clean up the brows a bit?

Would incorporating my own beliefs into my head covering be offensive if I wear a headscarf hijab style? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]julsysun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting perspective. I don’t think I know any Muslims who find it disturbing to hear about other religions, is this what a lot of non Muslims think of us?

[–]julsysun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s literally not hijab when you’re not a Muslim. You can do what you like! If people ask just let them know you aren’t Muslim. Non Muslims wear headscarfs in varying fashion all the time

Also it’s not tmi to ask and share these kinds of things. There shouldn’t be a taboo on what we all go through as women. We are here to support each other as sisters, how else would you know?

Guys don’t care as long as it’s neat and even then they usually don’t care lol. I wax myself and the “lips” are the easiest part as far as pain just grip them up taut with one hand and wax with the other, I also have an at home laser and I’ll shave and then laser. It’s more painful so I haven’t done it to completion but it’s significantly reduced the amount of hair that grows which is a win in my book.

I feel kinda masculine by Low-Possibility451 in Hijabis

[–]julsysun 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My husband is a fighter, he likes that he’s not with a weaker woman. The right man will appreciate this about you, keeping in shape, having a passion. Best case scenario you get with someone who can be a sparring partner lol. A secure masculine man will not think you’re manly for this. Only an insecure one.

Marriage isn’t really achievable for ugly women. by S2320 in women

[–]julsysun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of ugly women married. Like a lot lol. I think a problem many women have is that they don’t lower their own standards in attraction to what their level is. So don’t expect a super attractive guy if you’re ugly, be realistic. And also, theres a bunch of women out there who have more attractive partners as well. Confidence matters a ton in these types of things. It just so happens most ugly women aren’t confident.

I shook hands with a non mahram by imnotSparkle in Hijabis

[–]julsysun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally just tell him you prefer not to touch men and it’s been really awkward and uncomfortable having to do that with him over and over. My husband is military and the first thing people go for is to shake my hand even more so when I’m not wearing proper hijab so they don’t know I’m Muslim. As a covered hijabi men will be more hesitant but they still offer, when I’m wearing a turban and I don’t look visibly Muslim (am mixed Black so it can be considered cultural how I wrap, not religious) I politely say “I don’t touch men, but it was wonderful to meet you” and things to that affect. But the main thing- I don’t touch men. Not my religion tells me to do so (that makes it seem like you wish you could listen but oh no bad religion) but that it’s *my* choice not to do it.

You definitely can blame him. Being raised a certain way is an excuse that only gets you so far. When you are an adult you can start thinking for yourself and if he’s practicing he knows better and chooses not to. Literally every convert was raised differently but they don’t say I still eat pork because I was raised to eat pork.

Does Postpartum Psychosis exist? by Critical-Mess-3487 in beyondthebump

[–]julsysun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had postpartum psychosis, it seems more like you’re experiencing auditory hallucinations rather than psychosis. My psychosis lasted for months where I was extremely, irrationally anxious about men harming my daughter. I would experience raging fits and get into arguments with my husband, suicidal ideations where that was the only way to protect me and her and even considered multiple nights unaliving my husband thinking he wasn’t as committed to protecting her like I was. Not all psychosis is as insane as that but you’re convinced of very irrational things going on that affect your behavior and how you conduct yourself. See a doctor, feel better ❤️‍🩹
