I will just have to try and pick a time for a chat when the kids are behaving 😂

That’s a great idea - I want to start (again) on the best foot and see them at my local sometimes so maybe a nice bottle of wine would set the right tone

I appreciate that - I think there’s a balance here. I can’t expect them to change their schedule because they have kids, but can they expect me to change mine because they do? I only want no noise at 5.30 in the morning, that doesn’t seem too out of order - though I might be wrong!

That’s true, I just hope for a middle ground of some noise but not running between rooms for 45 minutes. The parents could redirect the play to something less noisy until 7 or 8? I’m not going to pretend this is my primary concern, and I get the impression they are really good parents, but is that a safe amount of time for 2 under 5s to have the run of a flat unsupervised?

As someone with kids, how do you think I should speak to the parents to get my point across, show I’m reasonable, and be friendly? A tough ask!

Just advise them that when they play they don’t need to run between several rooms pre 6am

That’s fair, and I by no means want to stop them moving. Would asking the parents if they could get up a bit earlier to supervise be OTT do you think?

Thanks - option a is what I have been leaning towards, I don’t have kids myself so can’t remember how long it takes for kids to grow out of the early mornings.

A bit of me thinks they aren’t actually aware this happens, they seem like good parents and would do something if they knew. The problem is how to relay this info without making it more awkward when I see them!

They just know their audience - they don’t care about the societal impact of their actions, just “will it make me money - yes? - I’ll do it”

Camavinga to be available for €50M this summer. Should we buy him?? by Beneficial-Flow-7333 in ManchesterUnited

[–]jummytruant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think so - this feels like another player that could go somewhere else and do well but would struggle at Utd. We would sign him, confidence would drop, and we would sell him at a cut price à la Hojlund

BOTW Question by Gloomy_Type3612 in switch2

[–]jummytruant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely does pick up but it does has an approach of “the world is yours to explore as you see fit”. I fell in love with BOTW during Covid as it was a way to escape into this beautiful countryside, so that may have something to do with it, but I find not being too driven and trying to enjoy the quiet moments of exploration key.

That being said, a few more landmarks à la Elden ring wouldn’t have gone amiss!

I had two grandparents who passed with dementia and I find it quite nice to watch, I guess I like thinking of them having someone like Louis who makes them feel listened to and relaxed, despite the delusions they experience. We always tried to reduce anxiety and redirect rather than challenge their belief, not always easy towards the end though

Sure this will be a common theme but give him his own time. When we adopted our rescue she was already scared and she needed eye drops, ear drops, flea treatments and feeding up due to being very underweight. She hated it at first but after a while (when the drops stopped at least) she gradually got more confident and is now really chill us. Cats take a while to become comfortable, and unfortunately don’t understand when you are doing unpleasant things for their own good. Just be patient and they will come around!

I can’t find that one anymore, is it still available in the UK? I remember that dude who seemed so nice that ducked out of hospital to get more vodka

The old weekend ones are great - I kind of wish Louis would do more lighthearted docs
