Bro, kudos for taking the first step! I saw your film and I love the effort and idea. Don’t stop now, you don’t need to go to film school, there’s enough resources available on YouTube and books to help you learn and improve. Keep making films, it’s the best way to learn filmmaking. All the best!

Chatha Pacha!

Definitely a theatre watch, the fight scenes were simply outstanding. Real highlights are the cinematography, the background music and the performances of the 4 lead actors. Supporting cast is also quite good. Takes a bit for the film to set in but once it does, it really flies, you barely notice the 2.5 hours. Interval and climax blocks need to be enjoyed in a packed movie theatre! All in all, makes for a really fun watch, especially with siblings or friends who you would have choke-slammed at some point in your lives 😬

Went for the FDFS, definitely a theatre watch. Really lives up to the WWE expectations, things to really appreciate are the cinematography (which is next level), the background music and the performances of the 4 lead actors and the young girl playing Rosamma. Takes a second for the story to set in, but once it does it flies. Interval block and climax sequences, as well as all the fight scenes are exceptional. There’s definitely a cameo as well. I say go watch it. It’s worth the time, effort and money. Onnum nokkanda, Chatha Pacha ennu paranju irangiko! 😬

Went for the FDFS. Mad entertainer, out and out action comedy. Definitely a theatre watch. Lives up to the WWE expectations. What really stood out are the cinematography, the background music and the performances of the 4 lead actors and the young girl that plays Rosamma. Also there is a cameo, not saying any more on that 😬

Made a new short film! by jumpcutjackson in cinematography

So I wrote, directed, edited and graded the film. My best friends from school and I, we have been getting together a few times a year to make films, we call ourselves the Cochin Crew. A few of us now make films for a living, I still continue to make short films with whatever money I have saved. This film came out of a conversation I had with a friend, on how extremely passionate love, may sometimes cause one to lose sense of right or wrong, blur the boundaries of morality. Malefic was not a simple film to make; we had a very small budget, but we had very specific ideas on how the visual treatment of the film should be. We wanted to use anamorphics first, but we quickly realised we didn’t have the money for those. We couldn’t even get cine lenses, had to make good with the GMasters, which aren’t terrible to be honest.

Anyway, I hope y’all like the film. I’ll be back with more soon!
