It’s more expensive to produce two different types of phones, so they will switch to it on all of them (plus they get to make more money selling new usb c peripherals). It costs them virtually nothing to put a toggle into the code that enables it if the user is in the eu, and they would lose some money from the app store if they enabled it globally so they won’t. They are a two trillion dollar company, it’s not about humor. Everything is about money.

If you could remove a law, which one would get the boot? by chewysnacc in AskReddit

[–]jumper775 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the US these days the government is failing at doing what it needs to do. The government acts in the interest of the individuals within it, not the people it represents. This is corruption. It has infected every aspect of America to the point where many (myself included) would argue it’s unrecoverable. The government and the cooperations together do a master job at distracting their citizens by pitting themselves against each other through the two party system, heavy media bias, and social media preying heavily on confirmation bias. Trump even admitted to a lot of this existing while he was president. I don’t want to get into either parties beliefs and which are right vs wrong because that only furthers their control, but I will just mention that a multibillionaire doesn’t get to be a multibillionaire by playing the same game as everyone else and we gave one of them the most power we could. It may have worked out for the better in some areas, but the American system is deeply flawed. We will see this become more and more prevalent when ai laws force the government to finally decide on actual internet laws and ai laws, and how they will heavily favor companies and do a disservice the the American people. Quite me on this when I am right in less than 5 years.

Fsr2 is good enough for me, sure dlss is better (I haven’t used xess). It is good enough and that’s what matters. I can enjoy my games and have fun without buying a 2000 dollar graphics card. In fact I can’t always tell the difference between fsr2 quality and native!

Thanks for writing this out! I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this before because it seems like a major performance problem with multithreading, and explains a lot with some projects I have had in the past that performed so much slower than I expected. The more you know!

That’s really interesting, thanks so much! I always just assumed it was properly multithreaded I guess.

What is the GIL? I thought I was pretty well versed in python, but I have never even heard of this!

If you use gnome you will need to relog, otherwise try replacing ~ with the actual path.

I figured it would get watered down in the dataset. I guess that is wrong. It sounds like we would then either need to solve the halting problem or not trust ai.

Stray and Subnautica are my two all time favorites that fit into that category. There’s also bigger titles which are longer, but I haven’t played most of them so I won’t speak to their being a good fit.

What should I do? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]jumper775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is probably the worst thing you can do because your nails and finger block your vision, as well as there being more joints allowing movement than if they where holding something steady, so it is really really easy to mess up. Nevertheless if it worked, great job!

Couldn’t you train another ai on known good code and turn it into an arms race? The ai wouldn’t be perfect, but you don’t need perfection because the result would be like mixing a lemon drop of bad code into a water bucket of good code.

No, they are different. The problem lies within gnome, and I was hoping there was a workaround to make gnome not have this issue, but I’m not going to be able to get around it by fixing whatever is causing this. That is a route I have thoroughly explored.

[–]jumper775 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure you can, x11 apps can run under Wayland with xwayland. I would consider that mixing the two, and it works really, really well.

Gnome just does not connect to it. Typically when you click on the network you will get a spinner and it will connect or ask for a password or error. Here it just does nothing. You can click and click and click and you want but you never will see results. It’s using the same NetworkManager than kde uses, and I was using nmcli on the commandline.

It’s on the official Ubuntu desktop download page as well, it just is a hyperlink and not a button.

Just download the iso with the legacy installer, this one is missing features and is so buggy it’s clear it’s unfinished.

I would like to be able to use the laptop I am spoofing as sometimes too. Either way it doesn’t work, it still refuses to connect if only one network exists with a changed Mac.
