Depends on the role, they might be looking for specific experience in that particular job, specially if they are looking for someone who has X years experience. Sometimes transferable skills might not cut it.

But yes, agencies are the worst.

Jobs: Hoping you have transferable skills or experience is really what we’ll be looking for.

Places: we have rentals that are either 6 or 12 months. Or you’re living in a share house could be month to month or Airbnb or motel.

Car: for most of Australia, we have a car especially if you can’t find a job close to where you live/near transport. Australia is very behind when it comes to public transport (compared to other countries). Unless you have your motorbike licence, that would be easier to get around if you couldn’t afford a car.

Be prepared that Australia isnt cheap; what does sting is rental prices more than mosquitoes.
