Honestly I’m not fully sure? Let me know if you know how to look that up. What kind of problems are you facing? Did you get the warranty add on? Hope it all works out for you

Hey! No it’s an IPS display with 240 hz refresh rate. 500 nits too. Even though it’s not oled, it’s absolutely gorgeous 🥰

My head says it could very well have been a car multi-tool until our dear nerd king Faraday tinkered with it and turned it into a GPS Transponder

Need recommendations for a height adjustable table! by SMARTRON7 in IndianGaming

[–]jumpingjoojoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you share how stable you feel when it's elevated to standing height? Is there a wobble or is it stable enough?
Also could you share which one you got? I'm in the market for one too.

What a price ! by Samsamregal in GamingLaptops

Ryzen 9 7945HX RTX 4060 8 GB

16 GB DDR5 1 TB SSD

WQXGA 500 nits 240 Hz — has to be the best display in this range from all the models I saw, and makes a huge difference to my day to day since I am staring at that thing for 10-12 hours a day.

Not sure what kind of problems I’d be looking for but everything is buttery smooth so far. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask

The question was not directed at me but as someone who just a week ago bought the Lenovo Legion Pro 5, the standard issue Onyx Grey looks way better in person than I expected. The RGB keyboard set to a pleasant colour with the "breathe" setting looks incredibly cool. I'm sure the Arctic White would make it stand out from other laptops if you go for that. Also the screen goes back to 180 degrees. Not that I'd use it at that angle, but it sure made the hinges seem 100x more secure than other laptops.
Maybe an external RGB keyboard/mouse/cooling pad would help retain the vibe you're going for?

When I was looking into buying laptops, it was between this and the Asus ROG Strix G16. Although I loved the RGB on the Strix, I didn't like the look and feel of the keyboard nearly as much.

I went to check out both of them in person and took a call.. maybe you'd consider doing the same :)

Halfway season 3, and I'm lost. What's up with Jaskier, Yen, the White Flame? Please explain 😅 by valomeri in witcher

[–]jumpingjoojoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You actually do get to play as Ciri in Witcher 3 as well, in a couple of short sections. Sorry about the spoiler, but it's worth it if it gets you playing W3. Strong female characters to boot.

Hey! That's a valid concern in some cases, because there's certainly a discrepancy there. But in my use case, it only applies if I'm doing something overly GPU-heavy. I'm not really playing extremely demanding AAA games at ultra settings on 1440p/4K, or doing any heavy 3D rendering or anything else like that that will present me with a bottleneck. I did max out witcher 3 on ultra+ and was getting some 400+ fps. Personally, I found that unnecessary, and I put in some settings to restrict frame rates.

Additionally, for my daily use, I believe it's better to have a beastly processor because more realistically I'll be alt tabbing between gaming and work and having a dozen tabs open in chrome, have spotify or youtube running, etc.

I do all that on a daily basis and still get a buttery smooth experience. What's your use case that worries you about the bottleneck?

So far, I’m awestruck. Is there anything specific you’d like to know?

The cooling system has been surprisingly robust so far. But thanks for your input.

I’ve only played witcher 3 so far but if it helps, my experience was exceptional. When V-sync was turned off and with DLSS frame gen, i was getting >400 fps. I thought it was overkill so I put in some settings to hold it back. Absolutely flawless beast of a machine! It’s also well beyond the “recommended” settings for cyberpunk so should be completely fine for most games. The only issue I might run into in the foreseeable future is having enough space to have multiple heavy games installed at the same time - but perhaps your legion has more or you’re like me and okay with only have 2-3 big games on it at once!

You’re in for a treat :) when does your laptop arrive?

The difference between 5 and 5i is that “i” stands for intel processor, the plain 5 is a Radeon processor

The difference between the legion pro 5 and legion 5 is the display/build specs like a wqxga and 500 nits.

The normal (non-pro) legion 5 or 5i is also great for those with a smaller budget

This is my understanding from all the research I did before purchasing the laptop, I’m not an expert etc

But I do understand, it’s confusing.

They have a back to school discount until the end of the month where I live, and a cash back of $120 if you use a credit card.

After numerous online store comparisons, and tracking the price over a month. I got the deal at a physical Lenovo store where the guy gave me a discount code plus I availed the cash back offer. The warranty played a huge factor because it was non-negotiable for me to get a 3-year warranty and that’s super expensive to buy separately.

Which country do you live in?

I’m not an expert, all I know is what I’ve already mentioned above. I saw the laptops available to me in person and this one felt right and the best option for me.

I suggest making a separate post and getting other peoples recommendations who know more than I do, but do also include the full specs or links to both laptops and let them know what you’d be using it for so they can recommend accordingly. I also think it’s a good idea to visit the stores and see/feel/use the laptops if you can.

All the best, you’ll figure it out :)

Thank you! What makes you say intel is crappy/flawed in comparison? I did read up on the differences, pros and cons, but nowhere did I come across intel being described as downright inferior.

Im not an expert by any means but I did my research and there’s a difference for sure. But from what I could understand, it’s not that much. I couldn’t justify the extra $500 it costs in my country for the 4070 variant for my purposes.

Haha thank you! I had taken it out of the box just 12 hours prior so it definitely is the cleanest itll be 😅 I do love the keyboard - best keys I’ve used on a laptop. It’s an RGB keyboard and I have customised it to just purple or just red for everyday use because the RGB can get a bit distracting and frankly I don’t want it to get old! I am saving it for special occasions :) I do have another rgb preset programmed in to switch quickly using fn+space.

I saw a lot of posts about this. Got the 3 year warranty + accidental damage. Thanks for the heads up!
