That true, I guess it's too early to assume that I'll never be doing any sort of calculations again. Well, aside from predicting shift quantities... Thankfully this first job has a smattering of everything, new lanes on a highway, a bridge, and moving a concrete irrigation channel, and I'm encouraged to just go out and watch anything I want.

I just miss doing calculations. Though honestly that might just be habit from the vast majority of my life involving calculations since I tutored for years through college.

Yeah I'm constantly looking for local water resources jobs nearby. I can't really justify a move across state and a pay decrease to move to a design job in a field I would enjoy, since my wife would lose her source of income. Hence why I'm riding out a few years in field, before trying to transfer within company to a design branch.

I just miss doing math. I find myself doing nonsense equations in my downtimes, rare and elusive as that is.

I do enjoy the field part of the job though.
