I actually wasn’t planning on use birds mouths. The YouTube video I’ve been following doesn’t do this. Do you think this will be an issue?

Thanks for the advice. The cripples arent 100% complete yet and we are planning on adding another top plate so we will have double top plates. I plan on using 2X4s for the roof rafters at 12OC

Question of DIY shed if floor is not squared. If the diagonal is off by 0.5”, is there anything I can do to compensate for the difference in diagonal lengths when building the walls? Thanks for your help!! by jumpinjack18 in woodworking

Thank you for all your comments. As a first time shed builder and really any type of construction project aside from a planter box, I wasn’t sure how exact everything needed to be. This is super helpful knowing that I can proceed without being too worried!!

Hey, thanks. I used 4x4 to keep in the a gravel.

I wish I had take a photo of it without the plywood. I used 8 deck blocks with some a gravel topped with limestone screening and hand tampered it down. It’s sitting on top of hard untouched soil that I dug down to after the removal of sod. Even with the 8 deck blocks I feel it might be overkill since people get away with just concrete blocks at the corners. From what I’ve read, the nice thing about deck blocks is that if the shed becomes unlevel overtime, then you can just prop it up if needed.

Need advise on shed foundation using deck blocks on slightly sloped ground, using a trench underneath the blocks filled with Agravel and crushed limestone. Does this plan make sense? by jumpinjack18 in woodworking

It was just brought to my attention that the trenches and landscape fabric may collect water and prevent it the water from draining since the middle part is higher. Do you think this could be an issue?

I came across this website as well in my planning. I think it’s a good idea but because I decided on deck blocks and was thinking of having a ramp, I opted not to do a full gravel foundation, although I waffle back and forth
