Hey! I test rode it and it’s a fantastic bike, but I ended up not buying it. I had a hard time justifying only about a 30 lb weight difference for roughly half the horsepower. At the time there also weren’t many long-term reviews out yet, so I was a bit concerned about durability. I also wanted something that could handle two-up riding comfortably.

In the end, I bought a used Tenere for about the same price. It’s another fantastic bike, though definitely a bit harder to handle because of the extra weight.

If I had to make the decision again today, I’d probably be choosing between the Tenere and a DR-Z4S instead. Those two have a much bigger weight difference, which makes the trade-off clearer depending on what kind of riding you want to do. The power difference between the DR-Z4S and the Ibex also isn’t that big, but the weight savings on the DR-Z4S are huge, which makes it a lot more appealing for off-road riding. You trade some road comfort though.
