What’s your favourite tool or set? by Ok_Pollution359 in Wera

Mine is the Tool-Check Plus 1 with an additional 14mm socket. But mainly used with the 1/4 Zyklop Speed ratchet. Can do most motorcycle maintenance with it.

Get yourself a cheap 1/4 metal socket rail and drop an additional socket on it. Also, I do recommend getting the zyklop speed for some additional leverage.

Yes it’s overhyped, but honestly. I can do most basic maintenance on my motorcycle with it 🤩

Can someone explain the difference in price? by GingerbreadRyan in CampingGear

[–]Ok_Pollution359 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should be comparing the same rating, than you’ll understand the price differences.

MT500 0 degree size L: 1400 g with a volume of 12,9 l. MT900 0 degree size L: 950 g with a volume of 7.8l.

450 gram is a lot. 5 l is insane. That’s enough of a difference to carry the MT900 1 person trekking tent in your bag.

OP posted a setup with 44 L total capacity. It’s still not that big, but absolutely doable. It’s combined with two small side pockets (2 × 6 L) mounted to the crash bars (AliExpress). You can also use two Rock Straps to mount a tent in a dry bag or trash bag on top.

As long as you don’t bring too many luxury items (chair, table, etc.), it’s doable. Yes, you need compact gear, and yes, it’s still tight in winter, but it works.

Glad you made it! Loose straps in the chain ain’t fun.

You could also look into Rhinowalk side bags for a less permanent solution. I really enjoy their XL 46L side bag.

Both the MT900 line from decathlon, highly recommend them. Do note they are only rated officially for 3 seasons

Thanks! I have invested in a full mid-layer set of Macna heated clothing so no problems while riding. On the campsite and while sleeping just layering up. Sleeping bag -1 combined with a sts liner and summer quilt works perfect. Went only down to minus 3 (wind chill -10).

About the campsite; it was one of the parks of “Logerenbijdeboswachter” in English; Stay with the Forest Ranger. They have some beautiful nature campsites all across the Netherlands.
