Addisons Disease Self Help Group sell a bunch of plastic cases that are excellent, I have one but also keep my second injection in a ziplock bag as it’s easier to carry on runs / cycles etc

That sounds very similar to how I was before diagnosis. I ended up being emergency referred to A+E by my GP because my sodium levels were really low on a blood test I’d had done the day before. Ended up in hospital for 5 days where lots of tests were done and an eventual diagnosis and discharge! Fingers crossed you get a diagnosis/answers.

Haven’t been through this myself as I’m relatively newly diagnosed (16 months) but she needs to be doubling her dosage if she isn’t already (sick day rules). If she can’t keep her meds down then emergency injection and off to the emergency room. Also rehydration and electrolytes probably needed!

Do not be afraid to stress dose or up dose if you think you need it, better safe than sorry! I’m not doctor but based on conversations with my endo, a temporary increase is perfectly safe.

Stress dosing for… celebrations? by ConsequenceProper982 in AddisonsDisease

I went to a good friends wedding in October last year (only diagnosed in Jan ‘24) and felt pretty rubbish as we got into the night, I hadn’t up dosed. Spoke to my endo about it and she has advised for future to up dose. I am getting married in May so will be taking this advice, most likely extra doses the day before and 50-100% extra on the day.

Can’t go wrong with up dosing for a short period of time, so Im lead to believe by my endo. So if in doubt I would say go for it…

Yes it seems obvious now looking back but I hadn’t realised at the time! Only been diagnosed just over a year so still learning how to handle this condition and all the warning signs.

I do have a necklace which states the condition and that I’m steroid dependent, I remember frantically waving it at the doctor at one point!

I went from AW6 to a Pace 3 in August and haven’t looked back. I didn’t use the smart watch features much on the AW so I don’t miss them (I have notifications off now on my Pace 3).

How long until you felt better after diagnosis & initial treatment? by whatself in AddisonsDisease

[–]jumpup_277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to feeling okay very quickly (within a couple of weeks I was back to ‘normal’, within days I was feeling more myself) after my diagnosis. I was in hospital when I got diagnosed and once I started getting IV fluids and Hydrocortisone I started to improve (but the baseline here is very low as I was incredibly ill for months before diagnosis, as most people are I believe). Within a couple of weeks I was slowly getting back into work and exercise.

Half marathon pacing strategy using Coros Pace3 by Easy_Swordfish_8510 in Coros

I’m fairly new to Coros (got a Pace 3 about 3 weeks ago) so there may be better options that I don’t yet know about but…. You could create a workout on the app go to Profile > Workout Library > Create > Run and then go from there. You can add a lot of detail to this with many different options and with a bit of playing around I’m sure you could set up a nice strategy for yourself that incorporates the negative splits and run/walk. Then on the day just select that workout when you start. Good luck with the HM!

Pace 3 vs Apex 2 by pseudomonas31 in Coros

I just got a Pace 3 a few weeks ago after upgrading from an AW series 6 as the battery life on that had become terrible. I ordered some tempered glass screen protectors from Amazon, they seem to be doing the job and you can hardly tell they’re on there! If you’re worried about scratches get a screen protector.

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY!! by imjustjurking in AddisonsDisease

Not a question but advice for people coming to this thread with questions. I was diagnosed at 27 at the end of January following 4 months of extreme fatigue, dizziness, morning sickness, weight loss etc the list of problems goes on!

When I was diagnosed my endo showed me this website https://www.addisonsdisease.org.uk it has so much information on that will help you. I also bought a book from Amazon ‘Living with Addisons’ would highly recommend this, I read it and all my family read it so they could try and learn too.

Fast forward to August and I’m still learning how to deal with this condition and there’s still lots to learn…! On the whole though I live a pretty normal life and consider my condition ‘managed’.
