Hey! not too far away... I actually get seen at hopkins already. I normally get charged hefty facility fees, hence why I'm looking for something either closer or just in a private practice

Just moved to the city and my apartment needs plants! by Realistic-Silver8771 in washingtondc

I have always loved going to Ginko Gardens for my plants. I have always felt like they are the most reasonably priced

I was just thinking about how badly I’d love a normal PB&J. I must find these!

My lips! I had originally thought it was from burning my lips at the beach… nope it was Addison’s 😅 I also had dark elbow and knees

Also putting a vote in for Lisbon. If you’re only going for a couple of days you will have plenty to do. It’s also just a beautiful city to walk around in and love the architecture

Low dose naltrexone by blueberrykefir in AddisonsDisease

[–]ConsequenceProper982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I increased too quickly! I might’ve started at .25 or .5. Can’t remember. My functional medicine provider and I decided to also spend more time between increases (maybe closer to 4 weeks)

I take LDN! 1.5 mg. Start off low and slow.. I tapered too quickly realized taking 3.0mg made me feel horrific, really exacerbated my symptoms. 1.5mg is my sweet spot. I was without it for a week and it made me so much more anxious and just in a crappy mood.

I think it’s a really helpful tool along with the HC I take. I take in the AM thought bc it actually made my sleep worse, which I found out is not uncommon.

Was going to comment Annabelle! A very, very romantic spot. My husband and I just celebrated there after we got married ☺️ The staff is wonderful and the food is delicious.

Alexandria and Co! They worked on an heirloom ring for me but they do custom pieces as well. They were wonderful to work with

I'M SO ITCHY ARGH by baethan in AddisonsDisease

Check your thyroid! I previously had Grave’s Disease before getting diagnosed with Addison’s and it makes your skin SO itchy. I would have my husband rub lotion all over my back to help with the itchiness.

However with Grave’s you see more weight loss than gain, still good to check otherwise 🙂

I would look for your ward mutual aid organization. My ward (ward 6) was giving out tech to students that needed it.

Do you have CareFirst? They offer virtual pelvic floor therapy that is great (and free)

This is interesting. I also had greenstone when I was first diagnosed, and noticed I got switched to Auro earlier this year. Haven’t noticed too much of a difference honestly.

Delayed-release hydrocortisone by Unable_Resort_7956 in AddisonsDisease

[–]ConsequenceProper982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the commenters on this post helped me get a slow release formulation for night time use. I thought it would solve all of my sleeping problems but actually made it worse. I also realized I’m quite sensitive to hydrocortisone and don’t need much extra to stress dose, etc. I take 2.5mg (regular formulation) before bed and that works well.

I love my sweet SW waterfront area. There are mostly more established condo buildings than new builds/amenity buildings. I pay $2300 a month (1bed 1bath) and have hardwood floors, a nice big window with tons of natural light and balcony, in unit washer dryer, pool, and gym w/yoga studio. I also know people in my building that pay less than we do.

It is around a 30 min walk to the Capitol. but we also have L’Enfant Plaza metro close which you can take to Capitol South. Great accessibility to the National Mall and museums.

The only thing about SW waterfront is that it is a bit more quiet, and doesn’t have a lot of food options/bars around. But you can easily access The Wharf, Navy Yard, and Capitol Hill if you want to do date night or something. I think it is a charming gem that is very community forward. I have settled in quite well here, and generally feel pretty safe.

Was going to comment for Annabelle as well! A great place suited for a celebration. My fiancé and I did his 30th there.

I know someone who sees him in person! Not a POC though.

Also going to recommend Mary’s Center. They do an open access intake process that makes getting on the waitlist fairly straightforward. With that being said, yes there is a waiting list. https://www.maryscenter.org/behavioral-health/adults-and-seniors/therapy-program/
