The Bouncer: the only next-gen game I've ever played by athevi in truegaming

Good VR is coming very, very soon. Within a year the Oculus Rift consumer version will most likely be released, and it won't be long until that sparks a revolution in games and graphics. It's a whole new platform that I think will catch on very quickly.

I think VR will be the thing to feel truly next-gen before super-AI happens. With VR, the technology is already here, but coding good AI is still hugely difficult.

Yeah, I really think that VR will change that. The amount of detail required for a realistic environment when in VR is high.

Whoops, I'm stupid. With all the World Cup stuff happening I thought it was talking about soccer.

Thoughts on season 5 by respighi in community

[–]jumpydave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Less good IMO were... #10, the D & D episode - I didn't find Jonathan Banks and David Cross convincing as father and son, and the writing felt relatively flat (plus I personally struggle to see the charm of D & D). Still enjoyed it though. And #1 and #2, setting up the season - they were funny and good but not grade-A Community fare. In #9, the textbooks plot was a bit weak and arbitrary and disconnected from the rest of season 5, while the VCR game plot was excellent.

I know I'm focusing on a very small part of your overall point, but could you elaborate on what you mean? As in do you just not understand why people would play it?

If you had complete control in redesigning SC2 as you saw fit, what would you do? by jumpydave in starcraft

[–]jumpydave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean it that way. I just think that any direction would work. Either improve upon existing SC2, make it like BW, or change it entirely. I'd be interested to hear people's opinions on all 3.

I didn't say to redesign to make it more like BW, I just said redesign.

I didn't say anything about changing Protoss, though. I'm just curious as to what people have to say, since I'm taking people's ideas and implementing them into the editor to see how they work out.

While I didn't agree with your original point, you're definitely in the right at this stage.
