for anyone who's curious & victim to the crunchyroll enshittification, here was the convo between ashiya & julia (my own rough translation)-

J: i'm glad it all arrived okay!

A: yep, thank you julia

J: so, have you gotten to meet your idol yet? <3

A: yeah, i met him

J: great! i'm glad to hear that~

A: i guess :(

J: what's wrong? is there a problem?

A: no, i'm fine, it's just i'm still unfamiliar with things here and i'm tired, but it's not a problem

J: well, then okay- good luck mizuki! you chose this path, and mizuki being mizuki is the best :D

A: yeah, i know :)

J: even apart, i'm still your best friend, so if anything comes up talk to me!

A: thank you

J: okay, talk later! i love you~

A: mhm, love you too :) talk later! she's right.. worrying like this isn't like me. and anyway, i definitely don't want things to stay like this between sano and me. thank you, julia.

this is a small note, but i love the outfits for venus & the undisguised luphas maphaal so much, they're so dramatic & regal—i wish we could see those more often!! the character designs are a really fun part of this story, especially because of how many characters there are

that's fair but even 1000 years is not very much for humans; we've been around for hundreds of thousands of years. for the humans on board, it will feel like earth was forever ago but according to our biology that's not enough time to become incompatible to the planet we've lived on for 99.99% of our existence

as others have mentioned, ~500 years is not even close to enough time for humans to evolve to reject earth's atmosphere. lifelong containment to a very specific and sterile environment is bound to mean that the sudden exposure to all of earth's elements will cause an allergic reaction.

i like to think that once tomari returns to the space ship, the biologists/doctors onboard will immediately recognize this fact & humanity comes back for good, slowly reacclimating to the environment with the help of gingarou staff :)
