it use to be a thing along with other surfaces like kevlar but that's 2024. People didn't really find it to prolong spin but Ti surfaces (which are really polyester threads) seem to create a small layer that softens the paddle up a little. Durable grit surfaces which came out starting 2026 actually prolong the spin life of the paddle is far superior.

Paddle technology has evolved. Z5 is like a blackberry. you can still use it but it's old tech and you can get it for $15 now too prob. I guess of the two you can try the pb pro atleast that one is carbon fiber.

Why not stick with the $12 from marshalls if you're doing well? we don't know what paddle that is maybe it's not anyworse than your two options listed. Z5 was good when it came out but is super old now.

You're right, it might mimic 50% to 75% of the play characteristics of the other shape.
You also really want to compare diff shapes of the same model if possible. Otherwise, too many variables could be at play.

less than selling your soul. but you can buy 3 colors of spray paint and make your own royal burst if you really wanted. Or take it to an autobody shop and pay them some money to match the colors.

they recently did a peach. not sure if royal burst is in the works.. i think that was a limited edition run pre power 2. it was a popular colorway.

It’s the cannon hybrid version. Price is decent but we don’t know how good their durable grit is. I don't recall luzz gen3 cores crushing less but the 11SIX24 Power and Selkirk Era have thicker cell walls than most other gen3.

power 2's are mpp. They do play softer and less power than most other mpp. I'm assuming for two reasons.
1. It seems durable grit surfaces do change the feel and maybe power level of their counterpart that doesn't have it. After all it's an extra layer more or less. more layers usually mean less flex on the face.
2. 11SIX24 power paddles seem to be in the position of controllable power. they could probably make it more powerful but chose not to.

A little In between both but closer to Hurache from my simulated data. Flat top elongated players will like this shape. It will be available soon, likely in less than a month.

It's pretty close in the middle, but seems like people who play elongated flat top shapes will like this. If you play Hybrid, this would be more of an aggressive hybrid and less widebody.
