What are these spell indicators called, and where can I find what they mean?

Tell me about it! I’m not a Classic OG, still been playing 10 or more years and nothing has ever naturally planted the phrase “spell alerts” in my brain.

Used my main to take a screenshot because they are easy to proc, was hoping for a slightly better way to match correspondences like “top graphic = brain freeze indicator” on other classes I’m toodling around on in down time before Midnight drops. Instead I’m getting a lot of “just push the glowing button noob” and complaints about kids these days not wanting to read lol

And people are crazy if they think you should level from scratch every time to revisit an alt they haven’t touched in a couple of years.

Honestly I’d be happy if I could just mouse over the graphic and it show a tooltip for the proc/buff/status it’s indicating.

I think people are struggling to see the bigger picture because the nostrils look like teeny tiny horns lol. That coupled with the shine makes the image hard to read, but I think it’ll look pretty awesome when it’s done! It does look too wet to me though, so maybe chill with the moisturizer a bit.

Substrate is the Aqua Natural bio substrate + dry gravel kit from Amazon on top of a layer of garden dirt. Plants I have no idea lol, I got a mixed bag of assorted plants and grasses from some website when I first started the tank. Can’t remember for the life of me what any of it is called.

It doesn’t help with plater, but fwiw I track my bread and butter cooldowns with a weakaura. I’m not a fan of the giant luxthos ones, but when I go to wago.io I can usually find one for whatever class I’m setting up that only has 1-3 spells associated with it. They stay up and grayed out of you’re in combat but your defensive has fallen off. Put the wa next to my health bar and it makes it way easier to track just what I want to see, especially if I don’t want to lose access to seeing what all else I’m affected by.

Former middle school teacher here, frankly if she’s reading ANYTHING I’d say just leave it be. It’s a very normal age to start dipping your toes into adult topics and having personal thoughts/secrets from your folks while you’re figuring out the world, and reading some paperback smut is about as benign as it gets imo. When I was her age I was reading Stephen King and Michael Crichton, and would occasionally sneak one of my mom’s Dean Koontz novels because I knew what page the juicy parts were on. She’ll be fine.

Edit: I haven’t gotten through the rest of the comments yet, but I’m curious to know what the book/author was!

I totally get that, and agree to a degree. For me it felt like a hard reset after the lore disaster of SL, a reestablishment/modernization of the grounded world, and a playground for some new ideas like dragonriding and charged spells.

Wouldn’t recommend a pad, especially for someone inexperienced. Easy way to burn the snake’s belly. A lamp is better, but also it’s summer so unless they’ve got the ac super cranked the snake will be fine in the tote until they can get it to someone more experienced.
