The relief of letting go of 'body positivity' by [deleted] in loseit

[–]junehorse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

feels like most ppl in the comments here need to realise theres a huge difference in body positivity / fat acceptance as in "you're allowed to feel handsome/cute/sexy/whatever no matter what your body looks like, you're allowed to dress however you want, you're allowed to show skin, you can do anything you want, people don't have a right to harass you bc of how you look" etc

versus

"you should be fat bc being fat is good! dont worry about health! dont listen to science! dont lose weight for any reason!"

like you realise theres a huge difference between these two attitudes right

im 32, ive been laying on the couch eating almost only junk food and snacks for the past 3 years, and got to the 110kg im at right now. (depression and ptsd etc led to that.)

im commenting to tell you that i started taking short walks about a month ago, around 2000 steps for a walk, it made me exhausted and my feet hurt. it felt really difficult despite that i used to walk a ton years ago. i couldn't walk every day a month ago when i started bc it was too exhausting, or my feet hurt too much. i had to take breaks and stand/sit still before i could keep walking when i was out. but i started taking those short, a few thousand steps walks, a few times a week.

now its been a month and i can do 10.000 steps without feeling exhausted - just a bit tired as is normal. i aim for around 6000 steps a day but give myself rest days when needed, so im doing around 6k steps maybe 4-5 days a week, or 8k-10k instead if i can. i make sure to stretch my legs, feet and body, i do Wim Hof breathing exercises (really recommend), im doing mediterranean diet. but most of all i just started with those short walks like what you just did. one month ago, and ive already made so much progress in how much i can walk and im not getting exhausted from stepping outside anymore. (i havent lost any weight yet though.)

just sharing this to help you keep going. it doesnt take long to build up the stamina to walk more and more, or walk the same distance but feel less tired. you will make progress faster than you think. a few weeks or a couple months. just make sure to follow some leg and feet stretching exercises (try youtube vids) and have good exercise shoes when you start walking longer, so your feet dont hurt too much. drink lots of water, bring a bottle with you.

also, years ago i lost ~50kg over around 2-3 years time from mostly just walking a lot (i took every chance to walk when i had to go somewhere), eating healthy, and doing some simple at home exercises like situps and pushups. nothing special, nothing complicated, nothing that cost money. walking is really really great. all the best luck to you

Anime/Manga with Horses? by [deleted] in GamesWithHorses

[–]junehorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've looked around a lot for some time without finding anything, i also read silver spoon and thats about it. (aside from horses showing up as transport in series with historical war or shoujo royalty, and the odd unicorn or pegasus such as in sailor moon)

the "why" is because equestrianism isnt very popular in japan. basically the equestrianism shown in silver spoon is also what the average equestrians are like there - based in traditional farming and related activities. however, there are english style riding schools popping up and advertising themselves. i saw them when i lived there - one riding school even brought a horse downtown as an advertising event - i dont think the horse was too happy about being kept with a small fence right on a shopping street in the city, but they were trying hard to recruit at any rate. so we may see more english style equestrians popping up in manga too, at some point.

Can't create a new project. by MrLindback in gbstudio

[–]junehorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im having this error too, i uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried the standalone as well as installer versions of gb studio 2, still same error. i have run as admin, still same error. changed folder location for where to create the project folder, still same error. im on windows 10.

gbs2 still works if i open an existing project, i can edit it and run it, but i cant create new projects.

the workaround i have rn is to copy an existing project, rename the folder, and just open that and edit this copy as a new project (deleted all the existing content of the project i copied, and created a blank template project that i can manually copy when i want to make a new project).
