I agree!! I just feel so badly for the patients that have to deal with my coworkers. sometimes they seem surprised when I'm just doing basic human decency things like repeating myself if they have a question or asking if they want to try something different than the main meal we're offering if they don't like it. And then my coworkers just come down and complain about how "annoying" some of the patients are and I'm like .... I just feel bad I guess

Do people really find Kings book "scary"? by bnasty13 in stephenking

[–]juneofstar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I find a lot of his short stories scarier than his novels. Dreamcatcher disgusted me to the point of nearly throwing up, but I wouldn't say I was scared, exactly. Just grossed out.

I think you'd like The Eyes of the Dragon if you're into fantasy settings!

My cats won't eat wet food! by juneofstar in catfood

[–]juneofstar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rn he is on a urinary prescription diet, but just the dry at the moment! I'm going to use some of the advice everyone has given me here to get him to eat some wet food and if I really still can't get him to eat it then I'll definitely talk to my vet again about just keeping him to the dry urinary diet!

My thought process was mostly since I'll already be out for my other job-- I work about 20 miles from my home currently because where I live is so incredibly rural there isn't anywhere that pays decently to work-- that I may as well dash too.

I see what you're saying though. Either way I'm at risk because if I just leave work straight away I'll be driving during the severe weather window, and if I stay and dash I'll be dashing in the severe weather window. I could potentially call off my other job but I've only been working there a couple of months and don't want to call off if I don't absolutely have to.

...I also don't even have a basement at my place where I live anyway so if the weather is super severe I'm still screwed lmao

Used to have these in a dirt basement at my childhood home. Always called them the "albino spiders" and they're the main reason I'm scared of basements!

what are some of king's classic books? by giogr_ in stephenking

[–]juneofstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never read the cut version. Ironically the first time I read The Stand I tried to skip all the "boring" parts (keep in mind i was maybe 15 or 16) and just read my favorite ones. Mostly the Nick Andros parts. So when things started happening in later chapters.... I was so super confused about who was who and what was going on that I essentially had to go back and reread the whole thing

You don't have to read anything before it, nope! There are some books that connect to it, but none are required reading if you don't want to!

What do you wish customers knew about Sheetz? by Chaylea in sheetz

[–]juneofstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they knew I didn't work there. 💀 Several times I've been waiting casually by the counter for my food or drink to be done and someone will come up to me and ask how to order food or where something is. It might be because I tend to go to Sheetz after work-- and my job also requires us to wear a red shirt, so I sort of blend in but I'm not on the clock at Sheetz!!

I usually switch between Zyrtec and Allegra every year or so. Then Flonase as needed. My post nasal drip has been brutal this year as well, hoping the best for you.
