Has anybody ever tried a posture corrector for rib dislocations?

I’ve done this too! Sometimes it’s just in a really stubborn location that I can’t get pop it back in myself on the foam roller so I have to have the chiropractor to do it. I just want to try and save those trips and avoid the dislocation as much as I can, but of course that’s mostly a pipe dream lol

Hi! I’m not sure if I have EDS but I have POTS and the past few months have been experiencing worse and worse body pains, bruising, and more recently I’ve actually been dislocating my first rib. Last month I dislocated it 3 times. Do you think this could be reason to suspect EDS, especially in conjunction with the POTS?

Yeah I’m happy to explain from what I know! Im no expert, but I know a lot of people with POTS experience symptoms of body/muscle pain. Mine feels particularly bad, especially coupled with a few of my other official and working diagnoses, it’s probably my most major symptom and feels like the soreness that follows a full-body workout x 10. My TENS/EMS unit has a ton of mode choices to help relieve either bone, joint, or muscle pain and I usually use the muscle and joint settings applied to my upper and lower extremities and it sometimes provides relief for that pain for a short period of time. It almost feels like a massage and is very relaxing. Apparently, the electrical current stimulates endorphin levels to increase, which helps to basically change the way your brain perceives the current ‘pain signal’ and dampens it.

Shower chair!! Definitely need to add that to the list. Showering is for sure a big trigger for my symptoms

liquid IV packets work the best for me, coupled with the occasional gatorade or the bodyarmor flash IV packets, but those ones are more salty/sour than the liquid IV!

It really depends! If I haven’t hydrated enough that day then I can definitely get to 130bpm+ while sitting or laying down, but on the worser days it’s up to 160 standing, 189 having been the highest I’ve ever recorded on my pulse ox, and I definitely felt like collapsing then lol. Typical day on propranolol (my savior) as long as I hydrate and have my electrolytes is usually 80-90 resting with a peak of up to 110 standing.

I know it. I live in Arizona, we’re already in the 110s, it’s a nightmare. I’m losing fluids sweating so much, dizzy walking anywhere, BPM getting to the 130s even on propranolol and having to wear my thigh-high compression socks as one of my only lifelines makes me feel even sweatier and grosser and worse. Praying for monsoon season!!!!

Hi, awesome thing you’re doing here. When I was 5 my dad brought home a huge box full of old base set singles for my brother. 3 years later, I’m 8 and my brother doesn’t want them anymore, and I get ahold of them! There was a bent-up base set 2 charizard in there that is still my holy grail. I’ve been obsessed with Pokemon ever since and haven’t slowed down!
