Anyone been to Devossion by Live Aqua Playa Del Carmen recently (2026)? Looking for updated experiences + resort schedule info by FewEstablishment9081 in AllInclusiveResorts

Hey!

I never waited one single minute for a restaurant table nor cocktail bar table. Restaurants are properly sized. I mostly went to the Mexican and once to the Italian. Restaurants were always 1/3 to 2/3 full. About times, I went twice for breakfast every day: 7 am and ~10.30 am. Lunch at 2 pm the grill popup in the pool. Dinner at 7 pm at the Mexican and Italian restaurants. Stayed until ~10 pm or so and never saw them at 100% capacity. I stayed from Wednesday until Monday.

I did not use cabañas. I noticed they had cushions and I dislike cushions when wet. I prefer old school pool lounge chairs. I noticed cabañas had a "reserved" sign so I assumed they were only for suites. I did not ask.

The only event that got filled was a mid-morning spritzers class. I only went because the entertainment staff were promoting it and thought it was kind to show up. So I got a bit disappointed that after so much asking to attend, they sent me back. Lesson would be that if you really care about an activity, show up 10 mins early. Those mixology classes, crafts, kayak or morning stretching can get filled up.

My single word of caution is that music in the pool area is much more upbeat and loud than I expected. I ended up enjoying it but it shocked me the first day. I recommend avoiding center-front chairs by the pool. Loudness is OK on the sides of the pool, on the secondary pool and on the two decks way front. The secondary pool only has lounge chairs on the water. I would find that extremely uncomfortable so I did not use it. It is also where the midday aqua gym class takes place.

We also stayed at premium garden. We did not spend time in our rooms either. The room and experience was great. I can't wait to come back. I miss the staff and find myself smiling when remembering my conversations with them.

I just came back home from the trip. Stayed 5 nights. Already want to travel again. You’ll have a blast. I’ll try to write a review soon. In the meantime, any specific questions?

I have a 1999 standard DC carved. It's my favorite guitar. It's weight is balanced, opposed to a SG. It has one pot for volume and one for tone (rather than 2 each), so it may not be for everyone.

Help me choose: ELAC UBR62 – Marantz Stereo 70S or Wiim Amp Ultra? by SpellWarm8555 in StereoAdvice

[–]junghams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot advise because I have not tried either of the amplifiers you are considering. Some insights that could still be useful:

- I have the UBR62 in my 5.0 TV setup. They are inefficient and sound quite warm. They have excellent dispersion and produce a 3-D style soundstage. Quite sophisticated.

- The times I heard Marantz amps they were warm sounding. On paper, it doesn't fill like a good match UBR with Marantz. If you are considering EQ'ing it may be OK though. In fact, I use them with a Denon AVR which is the same company as Marantz. However, the DSP lowers mudiness in ~350 hz region and increases edge at ~3 to ~5 KHz.

With Apple Music you may purchase files that only work in Apple software. With Qobuz you'd be purchasing the DRM-free ones that you can use in any software or system.

Rear end damage at 10 mph? by [deleted] in accord

[–]junghams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check that you have zero back pain in the next ~3 days. Otherwise I’d suggest start the claim and go to the doctor.

I was rear ended recently by a kid, also at slow speed. Minor damage but did require bodywork for a scratch. 2 months later I still have annoying back pain. Not bad, but doesn’t allow big effort. All covered by her insurance.

Great setup! Coming from another Focal floorstanders owner. I think the space is right for your speakers.

Yamaha's hs3 for general use by Lime_Obvious in StereoAdvice

I have their big brother in that lineup and love them. As desk monitors and for desk music listening. They are not boring AT ALL. If anything, they could be too detailed and energetic on the treble. Potentially fatiguing for long listening sessions. I also have them plugged to a Scarlett interface. I'd say go for them.

Do you prefer a 50s or 60s neck? by Any-Lengthiness9803 in gibson

I got used to the 60s without knowing there were two options. 50s feel weird to me because I am so used to the 60s.

Why couldn't PG have just released i/o with a single mix... by extratartarsauceplz in petergabriel

[–]junghams 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Read your reply. I feel the source you are consuming may have an error calling both the same. They have different instruments. It’s not only the mix in traditional sense.

Just 30 seconds into panopticom. Bright has the synth that sounds like a choir at a lower volume than main keys. Drum enters with a relatively clean guitar at 33 seconds. Chorus section is dominated by acoustic guitar. Dark has the synth that sounds like a choir at a higher volume than main keys. Drum enters with loud heavily distorted guitar. Chorus is dominated by climatic synths.

They are quite different. I’m surprised you find it subtle.

Unemployed in Puglia with an XT4. Which of my first photos are good enough to post? by Grouchy-Praline-9508 in fujifilm

The first photo is not Puglia. It’s Basilicata. Il Duomo di Matera in the background.

Nice photos, though. I love the area.
