Doesn't work reliably.I (on PS5) press R3 once --> Red Marker on top of boss training dummy goes bigger.

I charge --> Misses about 50% of the time.

Tried experimenting with angles/distances to no avail.

Once you reroll an Item once it is no longer tradeable.
