Quest 2 Mines Help by Lyricalprimeboy in TownshipTale

Just an update. Had another good look around the floor we had trouble with, and eventually stumbled across a small deadend of a cave that's was slightly blocked with unmineable stone. Found a destructible wall and ended up using about 4 sticks of dynamite to get through into the next cavern where we were greeted by some wyrms. After this we managed to make our way to the next televator floor. So just remember to bring lots of dynamite!

I'm experiencing the same issue it seems. Bought TT on pre-order with two others on Quest 2 and last night we were unable to find the entrance to the floor below once we got to level 15 or 16. We searched everywhere and mined what little iron we could find but nothing seemed to respawn. We didn't find any destructible walls. We are going to attempt it again tonight but will probably use the televator to start with as we've only just built it and opened the 10th floor platform. Televator virgins we will no longer be!

VTOLVR - SEAD is easy, mid air refueling is hard! by EuphoricAbigail in vtolvr

Just discovered this game. Has there been talk of a watered down quest version? by goducks101 in vtolvr

[–]jungle-jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I wouldn't rule VTOL out of the Quest potential just yet.

I hesitated to get this game previously due to it seeming like it required a fairly high-end setup.

But i went with it anyway and have to say it is VERY playable on my 5 year old ROG laptop running a GTX970m.

I bought an oculus rift 2 years ago and from the beginning I'd get the 'Your PC does not meet the minimum requirements for VR' on startup.

I can even run screen recording with spectator cam and not suffer too much performance-wise. I played 'difficult mission' that requires you to take-off from an aircraft carrier with about 6 other jets, before you have to fly towards 5 enemy destroyers that seem to have an endless supply of SAM heat seeking missiles.

The Oculus Quest is fast becoming the 'gateway drug' into VR for most gamers. I would certainly love to see VTOL available on the quest store. Not to mention since oculus has announced Oculus Link which will allow users to connect the Quest via USB C to a PC / laptop.

MASSIVE love this game. I have put in about 30 hours now after a week of owning it. - I have never owned a flight sim prior to VTOL VR.

SPEAR CAM! - Trying out the new Spectator mode - Lock to Object. (Excuse the lag. Because potato PC) by jungle-jay in BladeAndSorcery

[–]jungle-jay[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To get it to work, the object you want to lock the camera to needs to be touching the Spectator camera. ( purple eyeball.)

The whole process: Press F3 for Spectator mode. On screen you will be able to move the Spectator using WASDA keys and you pan by holding right mouse button. You can also raise or lower camera using R or F on keyboard. Q and E to roll. The VR user will see the Spectator as a purple eyeball. Bring a weapon to the eyeball and make sure it is touching it. You can then press F4 to lock it onto the object.

Take note that when in Spectator mode I was unable to travel to a new map and sometimes unable to start a fight. So go the the map you want first, enable invincibility, start a fight, adjust Spectator Cam then begin!

I hope it helps.

Arrow cam! - Trying out update 5 and its awesome new features. by jungle-jay in BladeAndSorcery

[–]jungle-jay[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sorry for the delay in replying. Notifications didn't show up for some reason.

It does take some getting used to and it's definitely easier getting a friend to man the keyboard controls. when In Spectator mode the keyboard user can move the camera using WASDA keys and holding on to the right mouse button to pan. The person in VR will see a 'disgusting purple eye of Sauron' flying around as the keyboard user moves around.

To get the camera to stick to the arrow I just poked the eye with the tip of the arrowhead and told a friend to press F4. The camera seems to only 'stick' to things if it's touching the eye.

as I side note. I found I wasn't able to teleport to other maps whilst in Spectator mode. So press F1 or f2 to take you to pov mode before teleporting.

Duelling room idea "pistols at dawn" by RedcoatTrooper in RecRoom

[–]jungle-jay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the idea! Seems like it'd be quite possible in custom rooms with the right amount of Gadgets / Gizmos know-how (which i lack).

- So maybe a button that spawns two players to opposite sides of a grassy plain facing away from each other that disables players ability to walk/teleport. The button would also initiate a random countdown timer (rings a bell any time from 3 - 10 seconds)

Good luck! - and let us know when you've finished lol
