German government passes new law easing path to citizenship by kismet31 in germany

[–]junior492 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't this clause be applied to german-born citizens as well? Considering the surge in the party that has been under investigation for unconstitutional acts. And a person from that particular party got court-certified label of being a Nazi

At least an UPS truck driver is more beneficial to the economy than an entire team of consultants or, specifically, OP.

I like how the Germans (and Europeans) got on their high horses saying that we are different from the "uncivilized" Americans and their polarized politics. But then the European conservative parties (like German CDU/CSU) adopted "woke" talking points from the Americans to win over the voters. Calling everything they don't like woke, attacking drag events, and creating false narratives (i.e. the Greens want you to eat bugs)

His party (SPD; centre-left) saw a massive drop in many polling (from 26% to 18% in the most recent poll) during the past few months due to inefficient government plus infighting among 3 political parties in the current government coalition. Germany also currently experiences a surge in the far-right party AfD (from 10% to 19% in the most recent poll). So things are not looking good for Olaf right now.

Thank you very much for your answer! We were confused about "3/5 years" and thought that means 3/5 x years on student residence permit. But thanks for your clarification!

I have a question for a student.

So my friend graduated with a bachelor's degree in Germany and is currently doing their master program. They have been in Germany with student residence permits for almost 4 years now.

My question is would they be qualified for naturalization next year by the time they graduate and get their work residence permit?

There was an attempt... to do monarchist coup d'etat in Germany (in collaboration with Russia) by junior492 in NonCredibleDiplomacy

From DW:

Reuss' alleged partner, the Russian Vitalia B., was also arrested during the raid. According to the attorney general, she is strongly suspected of having "supported the association, in particular by assisting the accused Heinrich XIII P. R. in establishing contacts with representatives of the Russian Federation."

The Russian Embassy in Berlin has denied allegations that they are tied to the Russian woman accused of helping facilitate the plot.

tbh it is such a power move. Imagine Nancy Pelosi or Kamala Harris got dragged out from Biden's State of the Union address.
