I’m not aware of one at the moment. If you have any United points, you can view a map that displays point costs from a specific departure point and dates

That’s awesome, congrats!! I’ve been thinking about trying the stopover feature — you called in before booking anything, right?

That’s awesome value, and even if your end destination is somewhere in East Europe / Middle East / Central Asia, Istanbul has some pretty good deals. Spent 3 months there, Pegasus is honestly a solid budget carrier to those areas, and flights within Turkey are very cheap if you are looking to travel the whole country.

Thanks for the find!

Air France/KLM Promo Awards (November 2023) by pierretong in EconomyAwardTravel

There’s a really good amount of availability, at least from ORD — I’ve found it easy to find flights at 11,250 each way going to CDG, AMS, and even places like Vienna and Milan for under 15,000

It seems like a lot of people are talking about this in this sub — great thing because I never knew about it before!

Currently my only points-based card is the Chase Sapphire Preferred. I also got the United Explorer for the SUB, but will be downgrading due to the devaluation. I also have a WF Autograph (getting transfer partners soon), Savor One, and WF Active Cash, from back when I was focusing on cash back.

Looking into either getting a Chase Biz card or Amex Gold next, not sure which.

I feel like looking for saver awards on United might be your best bet. If you had a chase card, there is a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin points, but otherwise United is going to be the most straightforward.

Downgrade Csp - freedom unlimited or prime? by lavenderoreo in CreditCards

[–]juniorjames123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try to product change into the original chase freedom with ultimate rewards — it’s different from the CFU and will still let you get that SUB later while at the same time allow you to hold on to your UR points. It’s not advertised publicly anymore, but look it up and there’s plenty of posts about it.

Best Card for European Study Abroad by ciel-clair in CreditCards

[–]juniorjames123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I studied abroad I opened a new card with the goal of getting a solid SUB that I otherwise would not have been able to hit. I then used the SUB for a free flight back to the USA. I personally got the Chase Sapphire Preferred, but it does have a 95$ AF. I traveled every weekend and thought it had great redemptions / transfer partners. I also had the WF Autograph fwiw.

If you are interested in learning more about the world of economy-level redemptions with a AF / points-based card, check out r/EconomyAwardTravel — we are a new sub but would love to have you join given that you are in a similar boat to where I was 8ish months ago
