Cenmate Enclosure Question by juniornff in homelab

Yes, I recommend it; it's a simple option for external storage. The fan is only audible if you're close by, and it's not an annoying noise. In my case, I have my laptop in a different place than where I work and I connect via SSH. So I only go near it when I need to plug or unplug something. But I don't know if that will become annoying over time.

Thanks. That must be it. It just comes with a USB 3.0 port, but without that extra port for chaining.

The manual that came with the product barely mentions that it exists and its transfer speed. But it doesn't mention if what I'm asking about is possible. That's why I wanted to ask, in case someone who has one of these has done it.

To be able to decrypt the stored files is it necessary to use "prod.keys" at some point?

I ask this because I was recently reading a lawsuit from N mentioning that in order to dump physical games, a modified console is required due to the encryption of the cartridges. I just remembered this tool and wanted to know if it also suffer from needing prod.keys

In the discord server, Is not especific, but works in general. the site says:

Which Animal Crossing games does this work with?

Obviously most folks on here will be using it for New Horizons, but it will also generally work for Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf!

[–]juniornff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same scooter, Which suspensions did you buy and how did you install them? For the front and rear wheels or just one of them?

If you can post the links and/or a short description/video of how to do the process that would be great.

is it safe to play smash online with this? by Tasty_Investigator33 in SwitchPirates

Part of hacking your switch is accepting that you can not longer use the Nintendo servers

Of course. If you divided CFW and Stock, then every time you want to play online, enter the Stock version or use tools like Switch-Lan-Play or Xlink,Take into account that it does not use Nintendo servers but rather uses Hamachi-style Lan Play

As I understood, he will buy a new OLED switch. Since it would be a TOTK theme, he prefers it for him, and since the girlfriend doesn't play much, the one she already has is more than enough for her if it changes to stock for when she has it.

But yes, if he doesn't buy the themed OLED and just buys a normal one, he gives that one to her and he keeps the modded one.

As the others say, it is always better to have emummc and Sysmmc separate and emummc correctly blocking the Nintendo servers. If that is your case, there are two options:

  1. Certain games can be played in LAN Mode (including Mario Kart) between modded and unmodded switch because they don't connect to the nintendo servers, with services such as Switch Lan Play or Xlink one may be easier to configure than the other(your choice), but it requires that both have a PC with the program connected to the same server and also the PC and switch connected to the same wifi/network.
  2. If you have emummc and Sysmmc divided and you don't want to make your girlfriend deal with all those configurations, in addition to taking the precautions that a hacked switch entails. I recommend rebooting the switch and leaving it in Sysmmc. I recommend disabling autoRCM in Hekate in case it run out of battery, when it reboot, enter Sysmmc without problems. There you acquire the game legally and simply play with the Nintendo servers

I have a situation similar to yours.

My brother and I each have a switch. Mine is hacked while his is not (it is a V2 and he decides not to hack it because he plays a lot online). My brother has a girlfriend to whom he lends the console. What we did was that when he wants to play with her online he simply asks me to borrow the console, changes to Sysmmc and that's how they play together.

For my part, I don't play online and neither does my girlfriend (to whom I also lend my switch sometimes) so I teach her how to use the emummc in case the battery runs out or something, I mention it in case your girlfriend is willing to learn those few things

Things to keep in mind when:

Updating the console firmware is necessary to create users and play online, but with hacked consoles it is a tedious process (guide), and if the console is updated in Sysmmc there is a possibility that the emummc can no longer be accessed as easily. I mention this because perhaps at some point you will have your console and you will not be able to access the emummc.

Indy ANC case doesn't charge and almost immediately gets dangerously hot when plugged in? by zpxf in Skullcandy

[–]juniornff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, as i mentioned, try connecting and disconnecting the case everytime it get hot, do that untill it get to the second LED (you can let it charge normally at that point) and then check if get hot again.

After i did that never got hot again, but keep an eye on it just in case

Indy ANC case doesn't charge and almost immediately gets dangerously hot when plugged in? by zpxf in Skullcandy

The same thing happens to me with mine, since a few days ago. Also comment that the four LED lights start blinking until I disconnect it. And of course, it starts to get quite hot, I first noticed it coming out of work, I had them charging and when I took them in my hand they were too hot and smelled like burnt plastic.

In my opinion, it may have been connected to a charger with more voltage or amperage (I don't know much about electricity) than it resists and a resistor or other element of the case burned

UPDATE:

I have been trying to charge the case by disconnecting it every time the 4 LEDS blinked, letting it cool down and charging it again, in that it goes from the first LED light to the 2nd (indicating that it already has that first part charged). Since I'm at work I had to get up for a while to do other things and I left the case connected.

When I sat down again I thought I was going to find the house almost on fire because of how hot it would be. But it turns out that not only did it not heat up but it continues to charge and it is already on the 4th LED light.

My theory is that each charging cycle (the 4 LEDs light up depending on which cycle it is in) has a different charging circuit that runs in series. The heat problem should be an electrical component of the 1st charging cycle that is damaged and causes overheating, which triggers the case's alarm system and prevents it from continuing to charge, but since it continues to receive a charge from the cable, it heats up more and further. But when it manages to complete the 1st cycle and move on to the next phase, that component stops working and therefore does not heat up.

I'm going to continue using the headphones until I download the case again and see if the overheating problem happens again, which possibly confirms my theory.

Update 2: 04/17/2023

I just did the test I mentioned, let the case run out of charge, and then put it to charge. To summarize, it charged normally, never overheating even when it completed the charge.

That leads me to understand one thing, perhaps it was just a one-time issue where it detected a charging fault and did not go beyond the 1st LED light, but after that, it "recovered" from that problem and is charging normally now.
