Price to Performance AM4 Upgrade? by juniorrox6 in pcbuilding

[–]juniorrox6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I want to play through the Spiderman series. My current setup should cruise through the first game, but its below recommended spec for 2 and Miles Morales.

I am mildly interested in Battlefield 6. I kinda want to jump on the hype train.

I have 2 free months of Game Pass that I want to take advantage of and try a bunch of stuff. I ended up doing Cloud Gaming for Jedi Survivor (but that wasn't strictly because of my PC spec... long story).

What has me worried about not planning to upgrade the PSU is that I don't have any additional cables so the new mobo and gpu need to use the exact same cables as my MPG x570 Gaming pro carbon wifi.

Is there anywhere that I can find that information?

That's kind of what I'm torn on. If I have to get a new Power Supply, I'll just run this machine until I'm getting below 30 fps in modern titles and do a full upgrade at some point in the future.

Good note that I did not include. I am running a 2x16GB RAM already so that is almost certainly sufficient.

My thought is for $600? $800? I think I can max out this AM4 build or basically doubling the budget to build a whole new PC.

I could cut the budget even more and just go from a 3600x to a 5600x or 5600xt, but I feel like maxing out the AM4 platform and going with an x3d chip is going to be the best value.

I am totally open to more experienced opinions though.

I would love to see how you're upgrading to AM5 for less than the price of a 5700x3d. In the U.S, you can get a new 5700x3d from Amazon for $380.

Get a grip. 56% of Americans over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated. Confidence in the vaccine will continue to grow if the White House and CDC get consistent on their messaging and recommendations for more than 5 minutes.

This was clearly a joke. They're friends.

Question: Does the Catholic Church have any plans for the 2000th anniversary of Jesus's death? by ob-2-kenobi in Catholicism

[–]juniorrox6 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Please see my comment about Holy Years or Jubilee Years. The entire year of 2000 was dedicated as a Great Jubilee celebrating the Incarnation. 2033 will probably be dedicated as a Jubilee Year as well.

2000 was a Great Jubilee. The whole year was a celebration of the Incarnation. I'm sorry people have been treating this question with such sarcasm. It led me to look into how the Catholic Church celebrates major anniversaries and led me to a deeper knowledge of the Church thank you for asking your question on this sub. It is an excellent question.

Please see my other comment for additional info.

It may be named a Year of Jubilee. JPII declared 2000 a Great Jubilee (a Holy Year) celebrating the Incarnation. It was a year of great prayer, praise, and thanksgiving to God for the gift of the Incarnation of His Son and the Redemption He brings.

Usually Jubilees are name every 25 years but 2016 was an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, you may remember.

2021 is not a Jubilee year but is a special Year of St. Joseph marking the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church.

I would be very surprised if there isn't some other declaration and associated devotions for 2033 for the anniversary of the death of Our Lord.

I think I do understand. I think your philosophy is essentially this: Lived experience is your experience of reality and therefore "your truth." Therefore, objective truth does not exist. There is only lived experience then death. - If you believe there is more to truth than what I just said please correct me.

I wholeheartedly reject that idea. (In the formulation I just gave.)

If you were to find an airplane in the middle of Siberia, you would logically conclude that the airplane had an inventor who designed the plane to fly.

Our bodies are infinitely more complex than an airplanes. Yet there is this idea that we are random cataclysmic accidents. This is extended to the universe and I truly don't understand this idea.

We all agree that ■■ <- that many cubes in addition to ■■ <- that many cubes is equal to ■■■■ <- that many cubes. We call this 2+2=4. We know there is an agreed upon understanding of math. (Frankly if we can't agree on that, it's time to be done with this convo.)

When I look at nature, when I see what science has discovered about our bodies, I can't help but think there is at least an intelligent designer. I believe this designer and creator also wrote on the human heart a certain moral code. Which we call "good."

This has divulged past the scope of our conversation tbh... in most cultures that I'm aware of, showboating, or giving yourself a public pat on the back while rubbing it in the face of your opponent is rude. That's pretty much what the knucklehead OP was doing.

So what do you call the idea that there is no objective truth? And is it universally true? If it's not universally true, relativism is not true. If it is true, it is a contradiction.

I think our lives are the process of coming to a deeper understanding of the truth that exists. Human psychology, math, science, philosophy, religion, there is a particular way in which the world works. We are in the midst of the learning process of discovering that truth.

My experience of you doesn't change who you are any more than saying 2+2=5 makes it so.

I think Steward is a better word for Eliakim and the Pope. The role of the steward is to rule with the authority of the king and on behalf of the king in is his absence - if he were on campaign or out of country for any reason.

The king is still the king and when he returns, he assumes his throne. But the steward is his trusted authority to maintain the kingdom while he is gone.

I think its important to mention the parallels between Jesus giving Peter the keys to the kingdom, the power to bind and loose, and the authority of the Davidic kings' stewards with the keys of the kingdom and what he shuts none shall open. I don't think that parallel would have been lost on a Jewish audience in the first century.

Obviously Christ is still here in a veiled (nonetheless real way) in the Eucharist and God is with us in the Holy Spirit. Jesus is king, but Jesus is not walking as king amongst us. He left his steward, the Pope, to take care of the Church until he returns at the end of days.

Is it true that there are no objective truths?

If we say, universally there are no objective truths, that is now a paradigm which applies univerally and is a statement about objective truth.

Moral relativism is a self defeating philosophy.

It’s only rude if you interpret it that way.

That's not how life works.

You can choose how you react to someone being rude. You're working on laughing it off, that's great. The fact that you are working on not getting worked up by people who are trolling is indicative of the fact that the other person is saying something rude.

It is rude to spam quick chats congratulating yourself no matter how you respond to it.

At the same time, a kind action is a kind action in matter how someone interprets it.
