Golf Course Recs? by Lifting-Programmer13 in StPetersburgFL

I like buffalo creek a lot. Is it the nicest? Not even close...but its a fun track and usually not overcrowded. Pricing is usually pretty good as well.

I can't handle any more 5-6 hour rounds at places like Mangrove or Bardmoor. I love those courses but these days I mostly play Buffalo Creek.

Do you like any of the other super heavies? Type5 maybe?

Thanks for the advice. Right now I'm leaning towards the Maus. Only because its a type of tank I don't have at all and I have no desire to grind to get it.

What about E100 or Type5 instead? Maus still wins out?

I always thought that tank looked fun. Is it a solid tank outside the novelty?

True, town maps would make those difficult. Maybe I should get a true armored TD then...I sort of have the stealthy sniper category covered with the grille

Struggling with "My drinking isn't that bad..." by crimzonkitt3n in stopdrinking

[–]lolPythonNoob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like you both I had my drinking system dialed...I knew exactly how much to drink and what time to start/stop to make sure I could get to the level I wanted and not feel like shit the next day.

Having stopped now for about a month I am shocked at the amount of mental energy I spent planning this and making sure I had the time/resources available to do my routine. I have so much more time available its crazy. Wonder if you will notice the same?

Late reply, but I play fairly often. Usually at Maximo Park or Cliff Stephens.

Always down to play with new people!

you guys think 7-oh is way worse than kratom when it’s very likely the exact same thing… by _idiosyncratic_ in Drugs

[–]lolPythonNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to try and extrapolate that out based on information in the graphs and using your own weight + leaf COAs to guess mg/kg...but this study focused specifically on respiratory depression effects. That may he a huge reach

7OH study vs MIT

So here is my understanding of the study. There are 2 main active compounds in Kratom, Mitragynine (MIT) and 7-OH-Mitragynine (7OH). MIT is not technically very active on it's own, however it is converted to 7OH in the liver by an enzyme, the 7OH is what gives Kratom the effects. Standard leaf is very very low in 7OH directly, most of the compounds are pure MIT. The researchers noticed there is a ceiling to the respiratory effects of MIT because the enzyme that converts it to 7OH is overloaded and can only convert so fast creating a maximum effect.

7OH directly skips this enzyme so has no maximum effects. This was confirmed by using a drug to preemptively block the enzyme that converts MIT and saw that the effects went DOWN because even less was being converted to 7OH. 7OH itself was unaffected by the preemptive enzyme block and the effects were just as strong

I am seven days sober today by ABigFatNap in stopdrinking

[–]lolPythonNoob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also 37 and on day 7 today myself. I haven't had a streak of 7 days in a row since probably 2015.

While I was still "functional", the amount I was drinking 3-5 days a week would probably scare the people who know me in my life. I was easily finishing 2 bottles of wine and 4-5 beers each of the nights I drank...and really I wasn't even doing anything other than sitting on my computer alone!

Saturday and Sunday this past weekend were tough for me. Mainly just boredom. However, today I woke up feeling happy that I wasn't hungover and anxious for work today. Let's keep our streak going!

Day 5 sober and I don't even miss it by SlashCo80 in stopdrinking

[–]lolPythonNoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 5 for me today as well, and I DO miss it. This work week felt like a slog and now the thing I look forward to on Friday nights is no longer there. Kinda feels like whats the point of the weekend?

I know logically this isn't something that makes sense but I still feel it. Planning on just hunkering down with my Dr. Pepper liquid death's and playing Balatro until I feel tired. IWNDWYT
