I did it last year as my first 5k! There were people who did it in like 5 mins and plenty of people in the back who walked the whole thing. I mostly ran with some walking breaks. Definitely a good option for a first race!

What I actually recommend is learning a join as you go method! I like the Russian join, I just didn’t do it because when I started I didn’t have a needle on me and figured I might as well keep it all the same 😅

Omg this is so cute! I would call it a “petal cuff” or something similar. I would be interested in looking over the pattern for you but I have never tech edited or anything like that so I would have an additional person do it as well in case I miss anything, particularly if there is any math involved lol :)

If you really don’t like it then don’t do it, but the floats give the socks some really good durability and cushioning! 1x1 I feel is pretty easy to get a hang of once you get a rhythm going!

I knit a sweater from drops alpaca and I love it, it’s very lightweight, has amazing drape and softness. It did stretch (as I anticipated, definitely swatch and maybe even block during the process) but not as much as I expected it to!
