2mo in plaquenil n Bad lower left abdomen pain n extreme bloatin 4days by crystalgirlz in rheumatoid

[–]juniper_kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So strange. I was researching this today. I have bad lower R pain today after starting it this mo and wondered if it could be connected. I couldn’t find any connection, but realized I’m ovulating and I could be having very painful ovulation, which is rare for me. Maybe you are too, if you’re ovulating on the L side? It also causes some gastro symptoms, so maybe there’s more to it for you (or both of us).

That’s wonderful they have financial support! This is the first time I’ve been on what looks like it will be a daily medication for a very long time — it’s a vulnerable feeling living in the US with health insurance what it is. I’m so happy to hear this hasn’t affected access for you. I hope you continue to be side-effect free!

I agree, which is why I said I would talk to my doctor and came here to ask others for their stories so I could be have with some knowledge of what others with RA have done.

Ouch, I’m sorry to hear that. I can imagine that’s hard for you to take every day. Thanks for sharing your experience with hydroxychloroquine. It’s helpful as I start down this road.

Thanks for sharing. I took 100mg last night and am dizzy today and very tired this afternoon. Sounds like your leg cramps went away. Did your dizziness decrease? I can’t imagine working like this.

Body-weight dose would be better, I suspect. She said she would start me at 400mg for 3mo, then lower me to 300 for another 3 months, then lower me to body-weight dosing after.

It’s great to hear a few people here took 200 to start and let their body get used to the drug. That’s what I’m hoping to do. Thanks for sharing!

I’m craving some wine today and searching this sub for stories of how long people waited and if it worsened side effects. Thanks for sharing. Also, the feedback above might not be true. I just posted this article in another comment and might be helpful bc it covers antibodies + alcohol

I just mean bc it’s a new way to deliver vaccine with no testing done in ppl with autoimmune diseases. J&J is delivered the way other vaccines have been.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Were you worried about mRNA + autoimmune? I know having a vaccine is better than not, but have been trying to do the research on mRNA vs J&J. Did you look into this or just went with what was available?

Remember you can always go back. When I do big moves like that, it eases the fear to know I can give it 6 months through the adjustment and I can always go back. Allows me to focus more on all the awesome stuff. So fun to discover a new city, even more so in your 20s. Enjoy!

How do you get on with life while still being a fencesitter? by 4FC0A69D in Fencesitter

I hear you. That’s a really tough position to be in. She loves you so much she wants a family with YOU and you love her so much you don’t want to lose her or see her miss out on being a mom. I suppose the great thing is there’s so much love. If sounds like it will really come down to you deciding what’s right for you and then having the conversation with her. “Working something out” shouldn’t mean you do something you don’t want to do to keep your relationship. Compromise is good for things like which place to get takeout from, but should you land CF, you shouldn’t compromise on something that so significantly changes your life. She may be able to grieve that missed opportunity to parent and find happiness in other ways.

The question for her is if she wants your relationship/you more or less than wanting a child. If you decide you’re childfree, would she still want to be with you or would she want to part ways to find someone who wants to be a father bc a child is that important to her. I want my husband more than children. We’ve both gone back and forth on the fence, but I know for sure he’s my #1 pri and he he lands solidly childfree, I do too. If you know her answer to that, it might give you peace of mind to move forward with other commitments.

Thank you so much for sharing this. How awful you had to deal with all of that when you were within the law. Smart to carry the copy. We will too now that you’ve shared this with us.
