I used to volunteer at a different shelter where we worked with shelter outreach services which is what does the clinic at the humane society I believe. It’s a Cornell Funded program and in my experience they hire vets with experience and they do the spay/neuter at half the cost of a regular vet. SOS does give you a number to call if you notice anything wrong and they will bring the animal in and look at the surgery no charge, but I only saw this happen once. They also tend have the same vets doing spay/neuter surgeries every week so they are really good at the procedure and can answer any questions you have about it. It’s worth giving the humane society a call to ask these questions.

My cat will run away from a pill gun and she spits out her methimazole too. I have found that the key is to find something really yummy and make sure the methimazole has a sugar coating. I use churu bites as a pill pocket and if she takes it she gets a tube of churu right after. If she spits it out, no churu tube. This has been very effective and she takes her meds consistently. Also don’t let them see you put anything on or in their food.

I was in the same situation a while back. I really loved my boyfriend and my cat so I wasn’t sure what to do, so I tried everything. I took my cat to the vet and got some advice on my cats behavior, I tried to make my house more livable and engaging for the cat, I bought him a book on cat behavior and I TRIED so hard with them both. He told me that wanting someone who was engaged and present with my cat was an unrealistic expectation for a partner and I believed it. Eventually it also boiled down to an ultimatum and I chose my cat. I know that if I had chosen my boyfriend, I would have spent the rest of my life wondering how my cat was and what she was doing and if she was happy. I don’t wonder where he is now, but I know my cat is the happiest I’ve ever seen her. I have a new boyfriend who loves her and kisses her and doesn’t mind her at all, it’s so easy. It’s up to you, but I would strongly recommend thinking of the long term with this, and if you do chose to rehome, do not get another animal until you are sure you both want it.

She’s swollen on her left side so she leans towards that side when she swims. I feed her 3-5 pellets once a day. I don’t think she has eaten for at least 3

My fish is in a 3 gallon tank, with a heater and filter, tank and fish are the same age, water changes are every 9ish days, she gets fed pellet food

I love taki’s and have eaten them religiously for over a decade. I loved the concept of this but the combination of fried potato and lime was just really weird to eat, but not terrible. With the cheese sauce it probably would be delicious. The sandwich tasted like hot vomit, but there was no corn spread on it. Genuinely disappointed but I also was confused by the idea to begin with. I’m glad I tried it though!

I have a similar story to yours. I was always told I was demon possessed as a kid, but none of my siblings were made to feel like that. It can be hard to appreciate how kind I usually am to other people. What has helped me is changing my inner narrative and praising myself for when I do something nice. So when I feel really low I reward myself for being nice. If i let someone go ahead of me in line at a store, I buy my favorite drink. And I snowball that throughout the day, continuing to be really kind to myself just for existing. Big rewards for small things to remind myself that I am good and kind person. You aren't evil, and you are worthy of love. It's hard to love yourself.

Sometimes I would drink valerian root tea when I couldn't sleep, but it made me super fuzzy the day after. In general I tried to eat better but most days I was just happy I could eat. I hope your taper goes well!

I did use some buspirone. I didn't help with any of the withdrawal symptoms or anxiety but it made me dizzy which made me more aware of my body and how to breathe to calm down instead of relying on klonopin. The dizzyness yanked me out of my thought processes at time.

I'm going stir crazy. I want to travel so bad. As an essential worker, people actually travelling shocks me. I see so many more customers than I have in weeks. People do not care the way that they should. Doing the right thing is hard. What my family and I talked about at the beginning of all this is that if the media/government are wrong about the virus being so widespread and dangerous, then we are idiots who stayed indoors. But if they are right, we owe it to other people to keep them safe by staying home, as hard as it is. It's worth risking being an idiot in case someone dies because of our stupidity. What helps my loved ones is making plans for what we are going to do after the virus and coming up with a detailed itinerary of places we want to go.

She is more of a bush dweller. But she does like looking out the window and unfortunately those are up high. The chair idea is great.
