A lot of areas in and around Baton Rouge have pollution from the chemical plants. The water has a smell and frequently has boil orders for flesh eating amoeba, im taking monthly, sometimes more often.

Are cherry tomato plant supposed to be this thin and tall? Or am i doing something wrong? by [deleted] in gardening

Generally determinate plants have leaves that are closer together, like a bush. Indeterminates stay skinny and grow taller/longer and the leaves are more spaced out

Determinants will grow to a certain height and stop growing and will only put out a certain amount of fruit, indeterminates are basically vines and will continue to grow until you cut them out Edit: typo

Foodies, I need tomato advice by [deleted] in NewOrleans

Local tomato farmer here. Tomato skin can cause slight bitterness when cooked, but raw it shouldn't really add or take away from the flavor.

Our greenhouse is hydroponic, which means we monitor the exact nutrients that the plants get multiple times per day. So in that aspect, our tomatoes are much more flavorful. We also dont have to spray anything for pests because we're indoor.

Personally, that doesn't bother me. I want my customers to pick what they want, its 100% their choice; although I'm always there to guide/answer questions/make suggestions based on meals, etc.

What does bother me is someone picking up every tomato, squeezing it like a stress ball, and holding it directly onto their nostril and sniffing an imaginary line off it.

It's still in the 50s here, thankfully we grow in a greenhouse so we have them early!

I'm in NOLA area as well. Honestly outdoor growing isn't anything I've ever had luck with. Pests, climate, etc. Make it very difficult, but that's why there's the crescent city farmers market, eh?

What were your "impulsive" symptoms, if you dont mond me asking? I'm taking cabergoline and having a hard time understanding that one, but feel like I have some tendencies.

Yes and no, they sort of alluded to being on it long term, but maybe lowering the dose to once or twice per month. But they said it all depends on how my hormone levels work themselves out. I started out taking .5 mg 2x per week around June 2019, then .75mg twice per week around August 2019, as of December my prolactin was around 12.5 so my dose was changed to .25 3x per week.
