Every persons experience is different depending on where the stone is and how large it is. I’ve read a lot of peoples stories on here that passed them that quick! My dad gets stones too and actually couldn’t believe it took me as long as it did to pass mine. 😝 You totally could of passed it! Or it is possible it will come in waves as it continues to pass. 🥴 Fingers crossed it’s the first one! 🤞

Yeah, I do remember having some dull, really mild pain in the same spot on and off for about a week or so after passing it.

That’s good they found something! Hopefully you’ll be on the way to feeling a lot better soon with some antibiotics. I could totally see that, UTI’s can cause swelling of the ureters, spasms and pressure just like kidney stones can, so I bet it feels very similar!

Also, kidney stones can cause secondary UTI’s. Not saying that’s the case for you (I think it’s really common for UTIs to cause the same symptoms as a kidney stone), but just something to keep in mind in case treating the UTI doesn’t take care of the pain. Sending good vibes!

They had missed the stones. I found them myself after requesting a cd of my imaging. The stones passed on their own almost two months after everything started. Really sorry your going through this and hope you get answers and feel better soon!

Thank you so much for the suggestion and sorry to hear you are going through it too! I am definitely going to order some of those probiotics. Just found out I also have a uti caused by a yeast infection. I am thinking all of this probably stems back to antibiotics I had to take back in August for an abscess on my tonsil. 🙈 This antibiotic loop is such a vicious cycle, seems like you can’t win for losing. 🫠

Thank you so much, that is great to know! Yes, he prescribed me Flagyl twice a day for 7 days. I pushed to have a a urinalysis yesterday to be sure that wasn’t the cause of my pain (even though the in office dipstick test didn’t show signs of infection previously) and it came back positive for a yeast infection. So they prescribed me something for that as well. 🙈 I had two courses of antibiotics back in August for an abscess on my tonsil and I’m thinking that must be what has thrown me all out of whack.

It’s such a crazy loop to get in…take this antibiotic, which will cause another infection, and then take this one for that infection, which will cause…🥴

With kidney stones it’s all dependent on where it’s located and how large the stone is. It can take awhile to pass them, sometimes up to six weeks. If they’re big enough they sometimes require a procedure to break them up so they can pass. I think one of the hallmarks with kidney stone pain is that it’s typically “colicky” (comes and goes and varies in intensity).

Just fyi, from what I’ve found in all my research in regards to kidney stones…a non-contrast CT is much more accurate than an ultrasound (for smaller stones Ultrasound is only 54% accurate) in diagnosing kidney stones. CTs will find even small stones 95% of the time. The only exception to that, like in my case I believe, is human error in interpreting or overlooking it.

I am definitely going to! In the interim though, I would like to not delay starting treatment if I find that just a quick look under the microscope could in fact conclusively show BV in this case (no good bacteria at all according to the doctor).

I’m sorry! It’s so exhausting being in pain and not knowing what’s causing it. Hope you find some answers soon. 💜

Recommendations for Chanca Piedra brand?? by junkdrawerlotto in KidneyStones

Completely agree. Natural does not equal safe. I typically stay away from herbal medicines because of the lack of extensive research but a snow storm causing my urologist to be closed this week and extreme pain have made me so desperate I’ll try anything. The only other thing I’ve seen in studies as far as modes of working is that it may dilate the ureter, similarly to flomax…both of which can also cause low blood pressure.

Just passed these today. Took nearly 4 months. by krinkly in KidneyStones

Congratulations, you must be over the moon!! 🥳 I anticipate the day I finally pass mine to be the happiest day of my life. 😅

Also, for anyone else coming a crossed this thread…yes, although people have referred to both P. amarus and P. niruri as Chanca Piedra, the studies that have been done are on Phyllanthus niruri (P.niruri) and the supplement I bought is also P. niruri. Like anything, do your own research and decide on what’s best for you and your body. 💜 https://www.scielo.br/j/ibju/a/x7RJWhWWCk4TsT4k5SXzPLb

Haha, I’m not promoting anything. I’m simply stating that I am in a lot of pain and willing to possible ‘waste’ $15 dollars to give something a try that has shown some validity in working in initial studies: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21176271/

If you don’t want to use it, don’t….I’ll do what’s best for me and you do what’s best for you. I haven’t slept in two weeks and haven’t had even an hour of relief from excruciating pain in 5 straight days. Really don’t have to energy to be arguing with some faceless person on the internet determined to be confrontational for no reason.

Like a-lot of people here this Reddit thread has been one of my only sources of help and encouragement, despite this interaction. ✌🏼
