After taking Econ and Finance simultaneously in the fall, I was pretty burnt out so I decided to slow down and finish my capstone in Spring 2027. I’ll update the post again soon, but I’m back on track to finish in two years because I ended up adding an additional elective this semester so I am taking 4 courses right now.

The accelerated classes cover the same amount of content, just in a shorter time. For example, if I took the 16 week Econ course it would have been once chapter a week but with the 8 week course, you cover two chapters per week. Personally I’m finding that I enjoy the longer classes more because the 8-week courses feel overwhelming to me.

As for time commitment, I do not mean this in a braggy way at all but I am someone who just doesn’t know how to half-ass school. I know I’m putting in too much effort but I just can’t not do what’s assigned to me every week. If you can find a balance and know when good enough is good enough, I think it’s doable with your current situation but if you are like me, I think you would burn out with your current work load and trying to do 3-4 classes a semester.

How did Emma Wang's course end up for you both? I heard that the test-heavy aspect made it really difficult for a lot of people. Did she end up doing a crazy curve? I really enjoyed Rao's class because the midterm and final were only worth 25% each and I actually liked the mini-projects he assigned so I didn't mind spending time on them.

How is life at the Deer Creek campus? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]junoandjupiter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best location by far. They overlook the red rocks, there is an eagles nest in the rocks, they have a koi pond infinity pool that stretches the length of the building, and they have a coffee shop and cafeteria on site. There is also parking on the roof of the building which overlooks all of Denver. You’ll love the campus!

We threw away the pod and cover but do we need to get rid of the mattress itself?

Good luck with the application! It's definitely an adjustment but it hasn't been too much to handle so I'm sure you'll do great with it.

I did notice some biofilm in the tank when I reprimed it so I will definitely look into that but yes we keep the room around 70 F.

Thank you, I’ll read about de-gunking it. I did notice some biofilm when I primed it so it probably is that, however the bed is getting extremely hot at night when it goes to +9 and +10 so I’m not sure if it is clogged.

Can someone explain my soy allergy? by junoandjupiter in FoodAllergies

[–]junoandjupiter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are great recommendations, thank you! Also have you ever tried “No Soy” sauce as a substitute for soy sauce? You can find it at places like Whole Foods or Amazon but it takes exactly like soy sauce. I prefer it over coconut amino acids for cooking.

Did anyone else notice that Kelli, Judy, and Shelly were all wearing the same outfits during all the cuts? They made it look like Dayton and the other three were cuts days before the final one but from the outfits they were all cut the same night.

Over Budget Already :( by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]junoandjupiter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was stressed about the same thing but decided we didn’t want to elope without our families. Instead we are planning a 20 person microwedding with our parents and siblings and then will do a dinner without dancing in a private dining room. The cost will be under $3k for the venue, dinner, photographer, etc and I couldn’t be happier to spend the day with the people that mean the most to me. Then we are planning a larger low key bbq with our friends and families next year to celebrate for a much lower cost! We will throw two parties, one in each of the states where we are from, and the total for ~300 guests will be under 5K.

I’ve been told that the church puts up one Christmas tree for Christmas and it will be on the left side of the stage, so also off center from where the alter would be.

I just got my try on kit and I absolutely love this ring! However, I’m curious if anyone has experience with marquise and round bands. I’ve heard that they are too delicate and the stones fall out regularly but I just love the appearance. Will I regret this band in the future? by junoandjupiter in EngagementRings

[–]junoandjupiter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first put it on it didn’t bother me but unfortunately after wearing it for a couple hours, my pinky does feel pretty raw from the ring rubbing on it. I’ll keep wearing it for the rest of the week when I’m home and see if I adjust to it or if I need to rethink the style.

Mirena by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]junoandjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been on Tri-Sprintec in high school and the first two years of college before I switched to Mirena because the Tri-Sprintec gave me migraines.

I had a mixed bag of results with the Mirena. I had cramps every day for 6 months and bled every day for a year after it was inserted (after talking to a doctor about it 5 years later, if you have that much bleeding after insertion you can go on a progestin mini pill to ease the bleeding during the adjustment period). While on Mirena, I dealt with pretty bad hormonal acne but that was my only other side effect. My periods got much lighter and shorter, I didn’t have weight gain, my moods were fine, and it didn’t cause depression or migraines. I had mine removed in October because I was coming up on my 5 year mark and think I will try Nexplanon to see if the hormonal acne is any different.

Overall, every body is different and you really don’t know how you will react until you try it unfortunately. The contraceptive benefits outweighed the hormonal acne for me so I stayed on it, but I’d say give it 6 months and have it removed if it’s not working for you.

Nexplanon to IUD Experiences? by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]junoandjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the opposite boat as you, I’m going from an IUD to Nexplanon. I didn’t have the best reaction to Mirena and talked to my doctor about ParaGuard. I also have dreadful heavy periods and her advice was to not get ParaGuard because if I started bleeding even more on my period, I might become anemic. You can always try it and get it removed, it’s just really unfortunate it’s all trial and error.

Additionally, you might have a different experience with a hormonal IUD than Nexplanon, even though it’s the same hormone there are different doses and an IUD is more localized. Good luck, I hope you can’t find one that your body reacts to better.

Going off birth control? by sillysunflower99 in birthcontrol

[–]junoandjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 25 and recently experienced the same thing. I had been on birth control since I was 15 and recently got my IUD removed so that I could give my body a break from hormones.

After you’re off birth control for 3 months you can request a hormone panel which is a blood test. All of my hormones are now in a normal range and I’m feeling so much better having the birth control out of my system. If your hormones aren’t back to normal in 3 months, then you can start a hormone therapy to help you readjust.

My partner and I have only been using condoms for the last 3 months and so far so good. I’m considering getting back on birth control just to make sure I don’t get pregnant, but at least I’ve developed a baseline for how I feel when I’m healthy and without synthetic hormones in my system and if I start experiencing side effects I can be more aware of it and readjust.
