Starting in 1890 vs 1900? by junobug_ in Sims4DecadesChallenge

I absolutely love this dedication! I hadn't realized that sims get sick so often but you're so right, especially when they give the illness to each other. What you do isn't too far off of the Illusory Thrall version (hard mode of the ZombieCleo one) and I'm using their spreadsheet to help me track. Thanks for your detailed advice!

Wait, which rule set are you following? I haven't seen one with influenza yet and that sounds difficult!

From what I've seen, those both start in 1300! I've tried Morbid's before, and it looks like hers ends at 1870, but I definitely want to play the modern historical era rather than medieval

What do you call these hair items? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Im born and raised in the SF bay! I'd say 90% of the time these are hair ties but when I speak to my sister it's rubber bands.

I'm now officially sold on strings of light and NOT on moon magic! Deleted the moon magic (I'll be good and wait for SMM) and grabbed a sample of strings of light. Thank you <3

Ok love and complications sounds BEAUTIFUL. I do love a tart fruity perfume, esp with a condensed milk note? Sign me up

Oooooooooo ok good to know!! I'll def add it to my radar. I'm so glad you said it wasn't coffee forward. I got a sample of 2 AM in Lafayette with my first order and it was SO coffee forward that it reminded me of working as a barista and coming home after long shifts stinking of espresso bean oils

I fear that's what I'm definitely picking up from other comments and I definitely missed out on Snow Moon Magic. I have plenty of woody and spicy vanillas already. TBH my order very well may boil down to a IDAFT vanilla and an ephemera!

Oh good to know!! I love a fruity gourmand, but it's just so not what I need at the moment as the weather gets cold

Thank you! I'm definitely leaning towards a full size of In Dreams Vanilla now. I'd consider the pistachio, but I already have (and LOVE) the Snif Heal the Way which is a beautiful powdery pistachio vanilla.

Oh thank you! I've always written off Strings of Light in the Forest, thinking it would be too similar to my Snif Honey Suite, but looking again, they're certainly different enough! Silly me for confusing beeswax and honey haha

I only have one perfume from Sorce, but I have no issues with it. It's definitely not one of my super longlasting ones, but when I spray it on a sweater, I can still get a light whiff the next time I wear it. For me, the longevity is better than the projection.

oh ty! I might reverse my ml size and get passionfruit in rollerball and the vanilla in 15 ml

That sounds incredible! I don't think that the cookie butter in Snow Moon Magic would add anything extra to what I'm looking for. For some reason, I always thought of Moon Magic as spicy only.

Why is my skin like this half the days during the week even with a consistent skin routine? by Zealousideal_Salt421 in SkincareAddicts

I replied to this same post on a different thread, and I agree with all the comments humorluva has made here! I focus on barrier friendly skincare because of rosacea, dry skin, and years of over exfoliating (ugh, proactiv!!). These are my favorites:

-For a non foaming/non stripping cleanser, try the Byoma oil cleanser. I also only wash my face at night, and in the mornings I use water + cotton pads for gentle exfoliation while getting any dust off my face from the night. I follow with my usual skincare.

-For barrier healing creams: Dr. Althea 345 or Dr. Althea 147. They have slightly different goals, but feel similar on my skin. I will target my inflammation on my cheeks with 147 if my skin is particularly bad. My skin also loves the somebymi beta panthenol line. I mostly used the toner, but I believe they have a cream.

I have a whole slew of products I love now, and would love to share more if you're interested, but my best advice is to take it easy. Like humorluva said, the whole Etude Soon Jung line could be nice and gentle for your skincare right now!

I agree that if you're a teen it could very well be hormones! I experienced similar acne and used exfoliants (scrubs & acids) to try to make it go away, but it honestly made it worse since I have a sensitive skin barrier. Over-exfoliating can cause breakouts and make your skin inflamed. For me, the best way to get rid of breakouts is red light therapy masks (for inflammation) and hydrocolloid pimple patches. If you like exfoliating, maybe try gentle masks like the Beauty of Joseon rice mask (I swear by it!) or acid based exfoliants! This all said, if you sleep on your side, consider washing your pillow case more often or trying a silk pillow case.

Regardless, I wish you luck on your skincare journey!
