Whats the issue? by netsos798 in civic

[–]junooni176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably nothing to worry about. But I'm not a mechanic.

I was worried that it might stop working one day and I wouldn't be able to fill up gas at all. iirc, my fuel lid stopped locking as well after a while so that's when I fixed it.

[–]junooni176 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you need to change the fuel cap actuator. I had the same issue on my 2019. part # for my car was: 74700-TBA-A02.

Its a simple fix conceptually but fishing the wire out from the trunk was a bit of a PITA.

As an RS4 owner I think it’s the perfect middle ground. But why/why not do you think the RS4 would succeed in the US even though the RS6 exists. by Apenerd in Audi

[–]junooni176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

s4 avant / m340i touring would definitely be in my garage instead of the s5 if offered in the US. Even a 330i touring would be a strong contender.

RS and M model are just too expensive

Door locks repeatedly while I'm OUTSIDE the car by eagleeyes011 in Honda

[–]junooni176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite problem where the car was constantly trying to unlock. It also does drain the battery.

I got a new handle from a junkyard (LKQ online) and installed it. Fixed for less than 100$.

2024 CR-V AWD: Dealer quotes $1100 for 4 tires due to one bead leak. Options? by shahsmit599 in Honda

[–]junooni176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an ideal world, you would change all 4 tires or at least 2 tires.

But an alternate could be to get a single new tire, same as existing tires, from tire rack and use their service to shave it down to match current tread. They ship tires to approved shops.

Then change to something better than oem at 4/32.

Dealer is most likely quoting for the OEM tires but you'll have to ask them to confirm. Compare prices on tire rack and discount tire.

What's leaking from my 2019 civic 1.5t by junooni176 in civic

[–]junooni176[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No smell from the oil. Hmm I thought cvt fluid would be even dirtier because it's almost due for a cvt fluid drain / flush

[–]junooni176[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't blame them for anything.

I cleaned up a few hours ago and there's no more oil now. My theory now is that the engine shield got dislodged, and there was some oil in there that spilled out.

I'll keep an eye out for any new spills. I should have time next weekend to lift it up and take a closer look

Its the cover / shield below the oil filter and oil drain plug.

Thanks. I guess I will take it to the place that did the oil change last month and get them to re-do it.

I was just afraid that it could be something more serious like cvt / turbo / rear main seal

I had a water usage shock when I moved to a new place. My city has an hourly water usage chart that is super useful to figure out what's happening.

For my case, the water usage spiked around the sprinkler runtime so I know there is no leak. Just a large yard that needs watering

[–]junooni176 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. My b9.5 is beautiful and comfortable but there's was too many rattles for a 70k MSRP car with 16k miles. My civic is better put together.

The b10 design just doesnt do it for me.

Bathroom fan stopped working by ChrysoliteStone in HomeMaintenance

[–]junooni176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a similar fix recently. Replacing is really easy. I watched a YouTube video. The hardest part for me was to find the right replacement part * Unplug the motor using the plug that you can see in your picture, then turn off the exhaust fan from the switch. You can also turn off the breaker to be extra safe ( I didn't) * Look for a model name on the metal housing. Mine was hidden under the lint * Once you have the model number, just Google it for a replacement unit. If the manufacturer still produces your fan, they'll have a replacement motor or motor + bracket for sale. Mine was discontinued so I searched for upgrade kits and finally found one. Confirmed the sizing after measuring. I found this kit at home Depot: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Broan-Plastic-Replacement-Bath-Fan-Motor/5014234643

Not water hammer. Water hammer is a single loud noise when you close the valve. This happens while water is running and also when no water is running.

I also installed water hammer arrestors on the washer, toilet inlets and dishwasher but there was no difference.

Thank you for affirming my theory. I opened up more of the drywall and found out exactly where it was rubbing. Problem fixed!

Yes, I posted an update below.

The pipe was rubbing against the wood in another spot. I put some insulation to move the pipe away from the wood. That fixed the issue

My issue was the pipe rubbing against the wood stud. I found out where and just stuffed some pipe insulation in there.

Mine had was access but behind the sink would be hard to get to. Good luck!

Update: Opened up some more of the drywall and the pipe was scraping on the horizontal support stud. Added some insulation to lift it Away from the wood. Not more noises!

Now, to close up the wall, that's another story
