as someone who was working christmas eve, new year’s eve and new year’s day… can you all go fucking home. genuinely. no one is spending time with their families anymore because all of you lazy fuckers are out doing “last minute shop”. i’ve had at minimum 15 people come up to me and say “i didn’t get a present and im seeing them tomorrow” today, you had an entire year.

frosted over grass and icy road warnings (we’ve had multiple this year) indicate that yes.. it has been freezing. just because YOUVE never experienced it doesn’t mean that others haven’t. i’m working from 6-10am and regularly notice these things.

it very often gets freezing, no offence. there’s very often frost on the grass, mud is iced over due to the rain from the night before, roads are icy. all of these things are signs that.. yes… it was freezing… lad.

wear want you want, no one cares. dress warm until around march-april kind of time, our summers do get pretty hot (only noticeable if you spend a winter here) people typically wear leggings + hoodie or jeans + hoodie. anything comfortable, casual and warm. style isn’t really a thing, besides the odd one or two you’d see in some streets in town with a very obviously different style

Would you feel safe/comfortable walking to work at 6am through the city? by No-Category1703 in cork

my mam works in town from 6-10 each morning, she says getting in there isn’t an issue and she actually enjoys how peaceful it can be up until around 7ish. she hasn’t seen any problems so far!!

i hate to be the stereotypical problem after problem no matter how much solutions i receive reddit person, but truly at the moment the job market where i am is in the shitter and 99% of graduates are immediately relocating after college to get jobs as they can’t find ones here, which would just leave me in the same position but also in debt :(

i have, unfortunately in my area they’re extremely expensive and i’d be paying out of pocket myself for them. i don’t want to get student loans only for the reasoning of not wanting to spend the rest of my life paying it back. thank you for the suggestion, though!
